[B]1 Student and 1 Income Support Claim[/B]

LOL, not sure why anyone is bothering here. Such rudeness!
The way I see it, a student is completely exempt from paying Council Tax, assuming they have provided the necessary paperwork to the council. The other person living in the property will be liable for the remaining 75% council tax as they will be discounted 25%. The discount is because they live alone (technically, as the student is exempt). If that remaining person is in receipt of means tested benefits they will then need to make a claim for council tax benefit. This is not awarded automatically.
Simple really.0 -

i have been awarded CTB, thats why its confusing. why is the student being charged council tax?[STRIKE]Beggars cant be choosers, but savers can![/STRIKE]That used to be the case :mad:0 -
You have claimed for your share of council tax, right? That's all CTB will pay. if the student hasn't already done so, they need to inform the council that they're exempt and show proof.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

But you won't tell us how much you were awarded (yep, you still have not answered all the questions!). People have tried to help you, but because you think you know better (and clearly don't) you are still no further forward. If you are this difficult with the LA, it is no wonder you have a problem.Gone ... or have I?0 -
The following email makes no mention of your CTB award. What does your CTB award say? How much is the award for?
In the letter it states that i will receive 10.34 a week
however i have been told we are getting charged 75% CT and that the student is unable to be excused from CT because I am claiming CTB[STRIKE]Beggars cant be choosers, but savers can![/STRIKE]That used to be the case :mad:0 -

I am not being rude, i am being misunderstood and i have never had any trouble on this website. i have not dealt with the benefits office this way because i have not had so much confusion being fired at me so fast. when i answer one person another person says i have not answer them yet, give me chance[STRIKE]Beggars cant be choosers, but savers can![/STRIKE]That used to be the case :mad:0
