I am in almost exactly the same situation, my payment on the 3rd was also about a quarter of the normal payment. When I finally got through to the Tax Credit 'helpline' I was told that my next payment is due on 1st October and will be £125 less than my normal payments! I am not sure why my payments will be going down so much and am waiting for the revised award notice to arrive so that I can see if they have made an error. In the meantime I too have no money to live on/feed the kids, thank god the freezer is fairly full.
I am hoping that an 'extra' payment might materialise but not holding my breath, let me know if you receive anything before 1st October.
Good luck

Hi 321
Thanks
Im going to try to phone them (probably wont get through) but what I dont understand is that basically there are no payments for September apart from a very small payment I received this week? This has really set me back. Im self employed so I cant guarantee what wages I get from month to month therefore I cant budget for times like these
Good luck to you also

Ok....looking at my online banking this morning it seems that my tc award taking my daughter remaining in education has been sorted ?
I think i will have to wait for my paperwork to come in the post before i can fully understand it though because the payment i have received today is £17 less than what my payments were before and there doenst seem to be any "payback" for the £120 i was short in last weeks payment.
But at least i have a more sensible payment this week.
For any other readers whose tc's have been affected because of a child remaining in education/training , most people have found that payments are affected for one week max.0 -
I got my payment today but it was actually more than the helpline said i would get. Can't figure it out till my award notice comes through (which recently has been about 2 weeks after the payment)0

I received my payment today (my usual day). It's about seven pounds short of what I usually get. There doesn't seem to be any other smaller payment. This may be due to my renewal, as I had a small pay rise in June, but need to wait for the award notice to be sure. (I was recently awarded a Batchelors degree in science, but I'm obviously still too thick to work out how much I'm supposed to get, but I'm expected to know if its right or wrong...!)0

I have to confess it all confuses me too!
As i say , my payment today is a tiny bit less than usual....so where has LAST weeks missing money gone ?
Im down £120 from last week so if i dont understand the paperwork when it comes you can bet your life i will ring the tc helpline for explanation lol0 -
Same sort of thing here, this week mine went in but despite the lady on the phone saying it was a few pounds more it was actually £5 less than my normal payments,i am waiting for the letter too so hopefully that will help me understand it all better.0

Justmel - when i was applying for my daughters Ema the tax credit award notice i had to provide was for LAST tear , NOT this year?
Just double check this because as i say this is what i had to provide , along with the usual birth certificate etc.....
Daughters EMA was all accepted so i know i sent the correct docs.0 -
I had a reduction in my payments on Monday, but today I have had some tax credits paid in to my account. So only took a few days to sort out.0
