Hi,
Guess I must be one of the lucky ones. My son is 16 and returning to school. CTC ended on Aug 31st, which was last tuesday, my usual payday. I phoned the helpline yesterday and she said our new claim had been processed and payments will begin again on Sept 8th, this wednesday, so although 1 day later than normal payments, no real problems for me.
My son is disabled, so whether or not that makes a difference to the speed of the claim being dealt with i'm not sure.
Jules
Have your payment amounts changed at all ?0 -
I called this morning and was told that payments will resume on Wednesday the 8th so it took a week as i first suspected,i asked how much and it is a few pounds more than before although the lady on the phone did say 'It looks like it's going back to what it was' so i think the few pounds more is in light of the £50 we lost last week.
She said a letter had been sent but she thinks i will probably get it after the payment date, hopefully it wont take too long as my son needs to send this to claim his EMA.
I am just so glad that i read here first because they were telling me it would be backdated but it didn't occur to me at that point that it wouldn't be in a lump sum but spread out over the weeks and yes i do think a clearer explanation is needed,of course people are going to be upset if they are told it will carry on and they go to the bank to find it hasn't then need to call tax credits possibly more than once to try to understand it all,it's been really horrible for us like it has been for a lot of families and the thing is if i had been told how it worked properly when i first called i could have saved up that money to bridge us over but i didn't know i would need to,oh well all sorted now!0 -
Finally got Through To The Tax Credit People, I like many on here did not receive full payment Today:( Spoke to a really nice adviser who told me that as above payments would resume from the 8th, I will receive a payment on the 8th and normal payments on the 13th it is slightly less then before because I did receive some money Today. So glad its sorted now, need to pay college £50 this week and just did not know where I was to get it from on top of bus fares and dinners:(If your neighbour's grass is greener, its time to water your lawn!:rotfl::rotfl:0

Hi,
Yes they have gone up, although i'd rather not mention my weekly amounts on here for obvious reasons!
God i wish mine had gone up. I've run out of contribution based JSA, and my working tax credits for my husband have been over halved. I'm almost £120 a week worse off now between the 2, just when i need it the most !!!0 -
im on hold now been here for 10 mins will update when i get through maybe some time tho..lol0

I will get a payment on my normal day (£55 less than original payment) then another payment the day after (£11 less than original payment) and this will be my weekly amount.
Not sure why it's gone down??If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
im thinking that some payments have gone down because the renewal made before the end of july still have not been sorted properly an this is like an intrim payment0

Hi there! Managed to get through today and I will get a payment of my normal amount with a cpl of £ added, plus a second payment of about half the normal amount on Thursday, which is my usual day. So it has taken about 5 days to sort as others have found. My weekly payment will then continue at the normal amount plus about £1.50. I can sleep tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best of luck to everyone else x0
