Wait for a post from albatross with some wisdom but otherwise I'd restart as you suggested and see what happens. Think your router setup is OK but will need securing eventually
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc
  • The only wisdom I can shed is to turn off the router and see if it still connects to the internet. If you have set it to connect to any wireless network in range, it could be a neighbours.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • Your ipconfig looks good and indicates that you are connected wirelessly.

Are you using Windows to manage the wireless connection or the Intel software that came with the laptop?

    Connect to 192.168.0.1
    Go to wireless settings
    Check WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)
Enter a key (password of your choosing)
[Once you've got the hang of this, you can go to a 63 character key generator web site for a strong key]
    Apply

You'll then have to reconnect to the wireless network using your new key

    Gud luck
