DNS server unavailable - unable to connect
Also, in router settings - WAN Setup, set MTU Size to 1400.0 -
as i can't get the laptop and router tpo connect wirelessly, I can't use either for very long. I really am so fed up with this now I'm contemplating going back to dial up. What's the point of having a wireless laptop and wireless router if I can't get a connection??? It's so frustrating0

This setting only affected the broadband side, try changing the ssid from the default NETGEAR people don't change these and it might be be part picking someone else...
Did it work without security turned on ?0 -

I've already changed my SSID....my network shows on the 'in range'list and I press connect. i then get a window with 'please wait while windows connects to the network' and it doesn't connect........seems to time out and I'm left with the list of available networks (which is just mine) and the connect button0

I've cleared all the settings from aol and just reset with one for broadband. Still no luck in connecting laptop to router - which is my main problem0

Which wireless card do you have in your laptop? Are you using Windows to manage the wireless or the wireless card's own software? This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Is radio turned on? on bottom front bar of laptop? As this by default is often turned off until you turn it on, but will show connection but not connect, until it is turned on.0 -
Where will I find the radio button??0

You've prob tried all this but these are the things I'd do.
Connecct via ethernet cable
Go to 192.168.0.1
If you haven't changed the password, enter 'password' under admin
Select Wireless Settings
Ensure a unique SSID name. Somthing familiar.
Region europe
channel 11 or try another you haven't yet (this may be part of the problem)
Mode g&b
Enable wireless access point
Allow braodcast of SSID
Un check wireless isolation
Go into Wireless access list and uncheck access control
Apply
Back into wireless settings
Disable security options
Try a few different channels
Save all and disconnect the cable
Refresh wireless list and attempt to connect to your SSID
Let us know how you get onApparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0
