But what's the reason for wheelchair users being unable to access all of the areas and your assumption that people not in a wheelchair would be able to do so?Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
I'm sorry but I'm really confused with your posts. I doubt very much that the company would come onto MSE to defend themselves plus if the OP was to make a formal complaint to name them here could damage his argument.
I really don't see your point about balance; the OP came here for advice and guidance on how to proceed with this complaint. If the events were not as described then the OP would have not come and asked for help. They have no reason to lie especially as the name of the company has not been given so there is no need for them to put their side across. We should be helping the OP not accusing them of fabrication or exaggeration.
Completely pointless thread, the company has no obligation to offer discounts. If the OP doesn't want to pay full price then he or she can go somewhere else.
I don't see why the company should even consider defending themselves. They offered a discount if the OP was in a wheelchair, to which he or she replied they could walk unaided. Doubtless the company smelt a rat at this point.
Freebies are a privilege not a right0 -
it really does make me laugh when people can walk ...but make out they cant for a discount ..im beginning to notice who to beleive on here (and it may not be the people who post the most!)0

*tries to hide high post count and stop feeling paranoid*

lol, you have no need to, because I have pwales on my ignore list so one of that mental list pretty much has to be me. Probably Sh and Jojo, too. Some people just won't quit.
And FYI, pwales, yes, I do have you on ignore: the only way I can see your post is when someone else quotes it like alia just did, before you start accusing me of lying again.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

I think this whole business also has to be put into perspective. Clearly if you are disabled and going to Alton Towers, hence unable to use the full range of equipment then a discount is definitely in order.
Conversely if you are going to the pictures, how is your disability affecting your ability to enjoy the film. It is not, therefore a discount is not relevant.0 -
I need someone with me at the pictures because i tend to collapse when i stand up at the end of the show (blood pools in legs so when i change posture my blood pressure is too low, heart doesn't speed up to compensate -even with a pacemaker- and i topple).
Alton towers would be a total waste of time for me because they don't allow cardiac patients on any of the cool rides.0 -
It was made wheelchair only after one day we watched a group of guys coming down the entrance all messing around, pushing each other, running and jumping over the fence. Only then to stand and witness two of them all of a sudden starting to limp really badly and get help coming up the steps, present us with a dla letter and ask for a discount. I personally told them to !!!! off and not come back. So its people like this thats forcing businesses to rethink offering discountsBut what's the reason for wheelchair users being unable to access all of the areas and your assumption that people not in a wheelchair would be able to do so?Well I Love Tv And I Love T.
