I call the dark liquoricey tasting one black treacle
.
This series has given me the final push to have a go at making bread! You'll all be so proud :rotfl:. I've never bothered trying bread, except for once making it in school. I think that put me off as there wasn't the time to do it properly at school and it turned out a bit 'orrible.0 -

I was told by the assistant who heard me that it was called treacle in other places. Very strange, wonder what they call treacle.

Yes, but he's bloomin' good at what he does, and never seems to get flustered. I'd be in a screaming flap as I couldn't cope with the pressure. Also James is lovely and I want to adopt himI don't like Paul, but I expect I'm in a minority
I follow GBBO on the Digital Spy forum, and there are quite a few people on there who don't like Paul.Black treacle or occasionally molasses.
This might help
"Treacle is the British generic name for any syrup made during the refining of sugar cane. Therefore, theoretically, Treacle, Black Treacle, Molasses, Golden Syrup and Blackstrap are all treacles."
I believe that molasses is less refined than black treacle though and has B vitamins and calcium in it.
ETA - just wondered Torry Quine, if you're Manx what with Quine being a Manx surname.0 -
