I think that it was right that Kathryn went - I don't think that she has been up to the same standard as some of the others. Brendan always does beautiful work - you really can't fault it. I still think that Danny could be the one to win it - she's always there plodding on and doing a good job. Thought her Big Ben was shocking though!

I was sad to see Katherine go tonight too. We knew she would go and so did she. I agree that Brendan misjudged the gingerbread task... the shreddies roof just didn't appeal - a crying shame because the flora on the roof was beautiful.

Katherine was my fav but now she's gone I'm rooting for Danny.

I suspect it might be a James vs Brendan final. I know it wasn't quite what they wanted but I thought Brendan's little house was cute.

I'd like James to marry my daughter so I hope he will hang on for her. She loves baking too and I quite fancy her marrying a doctor. She wants to be a vet so they'll have loads in common.

I might drop him a line and ask..... ;)
:dance:Sometimes I sing and dance around the house in my underwear. Doesn't make me Madonna. Never will.

I was sad to see Katherine go too although it was the right decision. I was a bit amazed she stayed in at some points, but it seemed like she was the one who had really come on and improved the most. I didn't agree with their comments about the flavour of her gingerbread, chocolate orange and ginger sounds lovely to me.

Tonight I also learnt that it's a pointless excess of faff making chocolate teacakes yourself and that if I want any that is one thing I shall certainly buy!

I think that Paul Hollywood is being a bit picky about Brendan's baking. He criticised the tea cakes, when in fact they were nearly perfect. He produced a great looking, stunningly decorated gingerbread cottage (OK the Shreddies were a bit odd, but it did look like a thatched roof). A wholoe set of perfectly baked crackers did not even get a positive comment, yet mistakes on some of the others were overlooked.

The gingerbread cottage was stunningly decorated, and looked amazing, but the decoration wasn't the main task, the gingerbread structure was, and that was just a house which was exactly what Paul had said he didn't want.
I agree it's definitely not worth ever making teacakes myself, although I'm sure they were delicious!

:eek:The teacakes what a faff..shan't be making my own anytime soon but loving the series again.

The only other programme the whole family (all male except me) enjoys as much is DrWho so they must be doing something right :D

I don't mind who wins but DS3 thinks James is brilliant

OMG I love tea cakes, can't ever buy them I eat the whole box.

I think Brendan was a bit cocky and it will have done him good to be taken down a peg or two. Although I agree he is usually perfect, it makes it more of a contest now.
I also think Danny could be the dark horse although I don't think structures are her thing:eek:
Loving this series, it just gets better and better.

I still cannot get used to the idea, that people are envious of others who happen to be skilled at something, and are proud of trying to maintain high standards.

I think Cathryn was the right choice to go, she seemed nice enough but she didn't seem to take suggestions or constructive criticism very well. Not that it would have necessarily saved her but Paul and Mary are legends.

I loved the barn that James made, he pulled it out of the bag! Loved how he was eating as he went along.

OH eats a lot of crackers and crispbreads, can't say I'm in a rush to try and make them though!

Can't wait for next week, petit fours and other fancy stuff, something that last year's winner did really well.
