now you know how new I am to this comping thing :o so this just me trying to get my head around things :)
to me the mag comps that come out weekly seem more my idea of a reg comp than a thread with a monthly entry into a draw that can only be entered once when you register or sign up for the email

so maybe if the regs board was used to post the mags comps in once a week more people would go over there to read them as they do now on the main board, the main board moves so quickly that the mags thread doesn't stay on the first couple of pages all week (it might do in the slower moving regs board) so everyone who follows it must have a way of searching for it, either by name of the reg OP or something in the title, the same search would find it whichever board it's in :)

    hiya,

    the Weekly mags are

Take a Break Magazine (posted by tttjay)

    Chat Magazine (posted by tttjay)

    Real People (posted by hjb123)

That's Life Magazine (posted by me)

Full House Magazine (posted by me)

Pick me Up Magazine (posted by me)

    the monthly reg mags are

    Puzzler.com

(which has several/different puzzle books that run in conjunction/with each other)

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2666391

the Take a Break puzzle magazines...

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1733685

& then there's the Take a Break Fiction Feast which runs reg every month but is posted separatly on the main board as it doesn't belong in the tab monthly puzzles

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2844576

    &
then there's the Take a Break 3 monthly Specials (i used to post these but now kirsty does them for us) which are posted on main board

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2782972

head is starting to spin now :D
I'm checking the old reg threads and sometimes the comp link is there but if you go to the site homepage there is no mention of a comp???!!! so I'm entering them to see if the comp works, I usually only enter a comp if I'd use the prize (and have won nothing yet :() but bet you I win some of these and end up with a pair of hemp yoga trousers, a visit to a secret bunker and a trip to north wales :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I still see the above as regular comps :) and maybe the reg board would become a much better board for having them posted there,
if other weekly/daily comps that have a short run and a specific end date were moved on to GO when they finished then the Regs board would be a place to find the above easier, but again thats just a thought (and my addled brain isn't functioning too well atm lol)

tis all a bit confusing tbh :o to me anyway:o

the puzzler.com thread has old ones that are out of date from 1st page & after,
same as the Take a Break monthly ones from the 1st page & after,
as the new ones are posted/added on so the old ones don't go to
    GO,

the weekly mags/monthly fiction feast/3 monthly tab specials are posted separatly on main board so they can go to GO when finished,
so if they were posted in the regulars then the thread would be ongoing like the puzzler etc threads, which means the comps wouldn't go to Go when ended ??

unless the op went back to delete the old ones out of date ? or pm a BG to remove ??
this happens in the postals/texts thread as well :D

So, for exmaple, should I post the sudoku selection in the TAB magazine thread or should it be posted seperately? It has an end date and the answer is different each month? Shoudl we stop posting these comps in one big thread and have them all as individual threads?
    2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89
    2013: £134.96

    hiya, that's what i mean BMN :)

if they're moved into the regular comps along with the weekly/monthly/3 monthly ones the ones that are posted sep. on main board will be same as the ones we have the big threads for the others,
    unless, there's a 'section/board' for 'weekly/monthly specials/Magazines ?

they could be posted in the same way as they are now with old threads sent to GO when a new one is started as happens now
the only diffenece would be you'd find them in the reg board instead of the main :)

  • Hi,

Hope this is the right place to post this question.

Does anyone else worry about putting your date of birth into these questionnaires to enter prize draws?? I had a company do a credit search on me once without my permission and i know it was from one of these survey sites because i made up a date of birth! even so it appeared on my credit file and i have contacted equifax/experian but they cannot remove it so i have to try to contact the company themselves which has been difficult so far!

I know they are not supposed to do this and I will get it removed eventually, hopefully not many companies do this, what worries me about putting all my details into these sites as well as my DOB is the risk of identity theft etc.

    How does everyone else feel?

If u r going to implement major changes would u do a temp sticky or post somewhere to explain whats been done otherwise it will cause havoc xxx Thank for u doing this :) xxxx

Edit: Also the last 6 stickies are all ones that could be incorporated into Vg's guide and hence could disappear xxx That would def tidy up the main board xxx

must say, it sounds a good idea, then all the mags postings would be together in one place,

if, let's say the Full House Magazine
(which is posted sep on main board (as with other weekly mags)

is posted in Regulars would we just add the new posting answers to the weeks before as in let's say last weeks
    (only an example)

    E: 16/06 Full House Issue 6

    then the following week

    E: 23/06 Full House Issue 7

& keep the thread going for them,
it would keep all the mag answers together save peeps searching for the particular mag/issue postings ??
