Cheers for all the thoughts closingtime.I do think we'll see more Fb& twitter comps out there in the future but I'd agree that the higher end prizes will remain in the general online area.I see where you are coming from re the tat that is being peddled in the guise of prizes.I'd rather spend some time on the better prizes than chasing around for bits of tat but they do say that one mans rubbish is another's treasure don't they,or something like that :-)

Thanks WO, I didnt mean to be disrespectful in any way regarding what people want to win etc ( Ive spent 3 weeks after a mini koala ), I just felt that the advantage/benefit on Twitter was very heavily on the side of the 'offerer' and I got a real sense of manipulation tbh.

I still unsure on Twitter as I've never seen it in action at all.

As a way of following interests I think its probably v good,ie if ur a filmbuff or a music fan,reader etc or a fan of particular people etc,and also as a true intimate social networking tool,but the minute you introduce any kind of commercialism into it or self promotion then I find it v ugly Just my opinion and im sure people will find it a more positive thing

Don't think there's anyway that using 'facebook' or 'twitter' in the title can be enforced as a rule really. Even things like 'effort' or 'survey' aren't also used by everyon although I do try to use fb/twitter/survey etc.. when I post i'm sure i haven't always done! Obviously it would be good if everyone did but i think there are enough rules about posting already. I'ts no different to opening a comp from websites that you would never enter through really.

I do think it would be good to have a subforum for facebook/twitter comps but we have been told that thtat will never happen

I like twitter . I have won the following on twitter this year so do think it's worthwhile: 48 box of walkers crisps, recipe book, books x 12, 2 lush christmas boxes, Nokia X6, walking boots, ipod shuffle, DKNY perfume, nail varnish, DVD, CD x 3, crate of drinks, dorset cereal, CK perfume, £100 H&M voucher... so not all of it is tat

p.s. how do you define effort? sometimes a tie-breaker style question 'why do you want to win' means that someone will put 'effort' in the title? I always assume effort means doing something such as writing more than a few scentences, taking a photo etc.. but not sure if there is a proper definition?

Expiry Date Format - Urgent Please Read could be updated/moved together in one sticky just in case peeps don't read the comping guide but it's all in the comping guide anyway,

& the Hotlinking , Copying competition text could be put together on one sticky as they're both to do with copying/pasting/etc


also think the Comping Guide - Getting Started & Other FAQs

should be updated with Glad 's name in the #5

the Rules, How To Search and Duplicate Threads - Updated 25/01

has replies/links that are out of date, even though the rules are still standing, the A-Z link needs updating for the new AIOE, AOOP, WEM, WTC, etc's,

have mentioned this before & sent a pm to the BG ages ago on that board regarding it, had a reply but then was never implemented or reanswered

that's just my opinion on the stickys/ old links etc for what it's worth, even though some of us have mentioned it before now

thank you Glad :A we do seem to be stuck in a bit of a time warp with the comps board with old stickys/old links etc be great if we could have a bit of an overhaul :) here's hoping

Kipper was a little before my time but her reputation & legacy will endure.I hope that she is well & still watching over us all.I imagine she did not envisage the way that this board would grow to what it has ,after her input in the early days.
Don't forget that there are still lots of nice people on here:D
