I wasn't home either0

Got home and it was sitting by the front door :-) (Have to love living in a flat with neighbours always in!)
Still getting used to it and it's very different to my Galaxy S, but I'm sure by the end of the week I will absolutely love it! The menus are great though - very easy and quick!0 -
Yep... this the same problem I faced. Just restart the Wifi Device(Sky/vergin router or the BT home hub ..e.t.c.)if it is hanged (check connecting via your PC or laptop) and Disable the power save mode in N8 by going to Settings>>Connectivity >>WLAN>> options>> settings>> power saving. N8 will not connect to Wifi if it sees that the battery power is low.
Also, just found this user guide, hope it would be useful for those who do it by the book

Thanks for the help lazy tiger.
For others having the continuous internet connection problem try the following 2 things:
1) Change mail settings - go to Mail > Settings > "your email address" >Synchronisation > Retrival days > UNcheck all the days.
2) put all homescreen widgets onto offline mode
After the first hard reset the phone became extremely slow, would freeze after a few minutes and the auto-rotate and slide lock didn't work (even though the settings were on).
Thus i had to hard reset it again. Fortunately the phone is now completely normal.
Unfortunately all the Web TV links (Paramount comedy, National geographic, etc) have all gone, as have all the images and videos (i.e. the Tron trailers); following the hard resets. I can't find the Web Tv apps on OVI. Does anyone know where I could get these from??????0 -
Hi everyone I am new to this site but have been reading these forums for quite a while.
I received my Nokia N8 last Friday. I had problems with the phone and did a hard reset and like you I am in the same boat.
I have tried to Install the 360 meter and then restart the phone and then I tap the icon and the display ether goes dim or goes black for a while and then comes back to the app menu or sometimes the phone restarts.
On Saturday I sent a E-Mail to nielsen support site about this and so far have not heard from them.
Does anyone have any suggestions???
Thanks M1dul for sending me the 360 meter links. unfortunately i can't submit the link on this forum either as it keeps saying:

As far as I'm aware, you can't. Well, not without paying anyway, if even that! For example, you will have lost Adobe Reader by essentially formatting your phone. But if you want this back, you will have to pay £6 for it.
Hence why I said hard reset (formatting) was only a last resort. For something like an internet connection, it shouldn't have been done. Sorry to sound critical, but I would never try a hard reset until I knew that at least a settings change, factory reset or a soft reset wouldn't help. It sounds like all the people who have done so have just jumped straight in with the full blown format - It may have been okay with basic phones, but not smart phones. After all, you wouldn't format your computer every time it crashed, would you?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

lol, you're right in retrospect it wasn't the smartest thing to do...I'm so used to having to hard reset my n97, that its kind off become second nature to me now!
Fortunately i still have the full version of adobe. Its just the Web Tv links that i'm missing. were all the images and videos that came with the phone stored in the c: or the e:??? surprisingly the documents i saved in the e: were also erased with the hard reset (even though i didn't format the memory)0 -
Got a taxi booked to take me to the DHL depot first thing tomorrow morning as I know I won't be in if they try and deliver. Can't wait to get my hands on it...
Can see this essay won't get done on time..0 -

I guess the N97 needed it...sounds like an awful phone from what I've heard! Glad I never got it!:pNorthern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

It was an awful phone TBH. Suffered horrendous memory management issues, resulting in Nokia releasing patches and fixes to try and solve the problems. I was going to get one myself, but then the N900 appeared. Hopefully Symbian^3 has addressed all the shortcomings of the previous high end Symbian O/S.
I'll have to pop into the mobile shops tomorrow and have a play with the N8.:D0
