Now that some of you have the handset, are you going to post a review?
I have no interest in the promotion company, but interested in learning more about the handset, if it is a worthy replacement for my current device and another reason I can avoid joining the fanboys0 -

Has anyone else had problems with the internet connection not going even though the web browser is closed or the homescreen is offline????
Also, everytime I disconnected my wireless home connection, the wlan keeps coming back on by itself.
i even tried hard reseting the phone via *(hash)7370(hash), but not not only has this this constant internet connection problem not gone, but the 360 meter along with the pre-installed webtv feeds and widget are now gone
Does anyone have any suggestions???
I tried installing 360 meter from the nielsen site, but this doesn't work either.0 -
Uh oh. A hard reset is only ever a LAST resort. And in this case it wasn't required because it only kept connecting because of all the widgets on the home screen. It wasn't connecting for no purpose you know.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Yep... this the same problem I faced. Just restart the Wifi Device(Sky/vergin router or the BT home hub ..e.t.c.)if it is hanged (check connecting via your PC or laptop) and Disable the power save mode in N8 by going to Settings>>Connectivity >>WLAN>> options>> settings>> power saving. N8 will not connect to Wifi if it sees that the battery power is low.
Also, just found this user guide, hope it would be useful for those who do it by the book

Hi everyone I am new to this site but have been reading these forums for quite a while.
I received my Nokia N8 last Friday. I had problems with the phone and did a hard reset and like you I am in the same boat.
I have tried to Install the 360 meter and then restart the phone and then I tap the icon and the display ether goes dim or goes black for a while and then comes back to the app menu or sometimes the phone restarts.
On Saturday I sent a E-Mail to nielsen support site about this and so far have not heard from them.
Does anyone have any suggestions???0 -
DH has just received his N8. To confirm, he only received shipping email last night! p.s it's the black/very dark grey one.0

Anyone found an iplayer app for it yet? I've been on the ovi store most of the afternoon. Also it looks great connected to the HDMI port on my TV and can play avi (Divx) movies straight from a memory stick using the cable adapter provided. It also the easiest way to transfer all you pics, music etc. from your old nokia. Just use the two usb cables together and use your old phone as a memory stick!
There is an easier way to transfer all the data using the "switch" application via bluetooth ( from the paired device 5800 or N97). It is under Applications >> Tools >> Phone Setup >> Data Transfer >> Another Phone. IT allows you to copy all your contacts, notes, music, photos, sound clips, Calender entries .e.t.c....e.t.c.... I mean virtually everything !!!0 -
I've got mine too!!!, letting it charge before I get sexual with it :O haha0
