Bring on tomorrow morning! PS im also an N97 user
I wouldn't hold your breath! Can't see them using standard post. More than likely a courier (City Link etc.) which tend to hve a very limited but expensive weekend service so I doubt it will arrive before next week. Then again I've been wrong before.
It's not that I'm not hoping it get here asap, but this waiting lark is really starting to get on my nerves! "We will be sending you Nokia N8 device very soon." I never thought a simple line in a text message could be so vague and have so little real content. How long's a piece of string comes to mind.0 -

I honestly cant see anyone getting this phone for at least 3/4 weeks. Even paying customers are being advised that the release date is postponed, so I would assume that Neilson "freebies" are way down the list.
Theres plenty of info on the net about this,--dont take my word for it!
p.s. I bet I get mine before you get yours!!0 -
Aye But they will need to get it out on the street to make sure it's working ok before there is a launch as the last thing they would want is a massive !!!! up!

Nokia have had since April to make sure of a good product.
They also gave away handsets last week at the NokiaWorld event in London, some of which are appearing on EBay.
I sincerely hope the N8 turns out to be a winner. All the signs are that it will be. I hope so. regards FW
p.s. I got mine out in the street and nearly got arrested!!!!0 -

conversations.nokia.com/2010/09/21/nokia-n8-shipping-update/ESPOO, Finland – There have been a few stories this morning about the N8 availability which we feel need clarification. As we have previously said, we still expect to start the shipments by the end of the third quarter. As with every global launch, when the device reaches the hand of the customer will vary by market and operator.
We have received a record number of online pre-orders for the Nokia N8. We had targeted our online pre-order customers to receive their N8s by the end of September. As it can take time from the beginning of shipment to arriving at their doorstep, in full transparency, we have advised our pre-order customers that they should expect their new Nokia N8 in October.0 -

i hope i'm not wrong but i think as we've been text to say we'll be getting it very soon that we fall within the online pre-order category
Not sure as they will be sending the Nokia N8 phone with a pre-installed Meter, so at one point someone would have to install this and I'm guessing this would be nielsen.0 -
Hi guys, I've also had this offer and am still awaiting the N8 Delivery.
The big question, is this a scam or is it real, appears to have been cleared up (an 0800 number that works, email contact and a txt saying it should be with us "Soon") if it is a scam it's costing someone a fortune!
The only problem is if Nielsen/Nokia don't get their finger out it may backfire as a marketing ploy/customer relations plan as they are building customer hopes up and not delivering within expected time scales.
All I can say is if Nokia/Nielsen do not have this handset out to panel members by the end of next week I think most members will start rebelling!
I did receive an email when I sent a request as to how much longer before I got my handset which went:
"Ticket number 37**
Dear **********
Thank you for your email.
We apologise for the delay in response and the delivery of Nokia N8.
We are sending out the devices to participated panelists this week. We can not provide with the exact date of delivery as it may vary. But we can assure you that you should be receiving your handset within the next few days time.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the helpdesk using the details listed below.
Kind regards

Now going by the "ticket number" I might have been the nearly 3750th person to ask about this (guessing they would have a separate q for the N8 offer) so perhaps it's just a question of the number of people getting this phone via this offer that's delaying our delivery.
One thing I am thinking though could this be a ploy by Nokia to say that the N8 is more popular than it really is ....... you know along the lines of "Nokia N8 goes live today with 100's of thousands of users" good marketing ploy0 -
Why do people keep on saying if this is a scam or not?
I mean just think about it the e-mail we got was from the same address that we recived the conformation when we actually signed up to Nielsen for the £10 a month scheme.
Also when I sent an e-mail back to confirm my place in the N8 program, all I had sent was my postal address and my e-mail address and NOT my mobile number, but as we all recived a text it would seem that they have out mobile numbers as well! Also if you have rang the 0800 number, they ask for your mobile number to find your details not e-mail address or anything.
The e-mail did say we shall get the N8 before UK release and not the pre-order release, so depending on when that is, we should get it in that week. Hopefully!0 -

Why what are you planning to do? Ring them up and tell them to cancel it? It's free, you've got absolutely nothing to complain about. If, in the unfortunate circumstances, it doesn't arrive, you still have nothing to complain about!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
