If you've got any of those foil trays that individual pies come in...

For a really light and very nice savoury pie pastry my secret recipe is...

    225g (8 oz) plain flour

    25g (1 oz) lard

    25g (1 oz) butter

    25g (1 oz) suet.

    Plus water to mix.

    OR...

Make suet pastry (the be-ro site can help here) drain the mince and onion and do a roly poly. Use the liquids from your mince as the base for a gravy.

How about chilli? Or meatballs? HM beefburgers?
You could try out tacos - you can get a taco kit from the supermarket if you arent sure where to start with that... not very OS though - look up recipes online - sites I like include Sainsburys, BBC Food and Delia Online
You can type in a main ingredient and search through the recipes that come back then for something 'inspiring' :D

I did shepherds pie with a bubble and squeak topping - it was lovely.

Mum used to do a bolognaise sauce and then mix with cooked rice till thoroughly mixed - we called it "rice and meat".

Chilli is quite easy and goes really nicely in wraps with grated cheese. Or on the top of baked potatoes. ;)

Add a tin of baked beans, onions, mushrooms and a tin of tomatoes and call it cowboy stew :D A favourite in the mad household, and it makes the mince go further :D

Mum used to do one with a rich tomato bolognaise sauce, white sauce on the top and pieces of bread. Had a specific name but I've no idea what!!! ;)
