As I've said before this social worker is giving biased advice well out of her practice area.
I've asked before and you haven't answered, but what is her expereince?
Again you are doing 2 different things - 1st thing your solicitor will do is write to SS legal dept and ask what the situation is - what sort of solicitor do you have is it a family law one or one who can represent you in public law?
yes we have 1 in family law and this is a new sw as mum said she wasnt working with old one as she dont like her then first sw was away family probs so appointed a new1 as she didnt want to leave baby for 2 weeks without 1 and mum is doing the same again with this1 so in answer to your question i dont know what experience she has as i have only seen her 3 times the family centre sw i deal with more but they all work together0 -
Tweetie - i would just like to say that after reading through (most of) this thread that in my opinion both your own son and your baby grandson are very lucky to have someone like you looking out for them.
Your love for them both shines through.
If you do manage to get the baby to live with you and your son then i wish you all the luck in the world .

Hi tweetie,
I think that you are trying to do everything you can for your Grandson that you are desperately worried about.
I have read all of your posts and I haven't found any holes in them.
It is very clear how much you love them like last poster has said.
I hope that you get all the help and support that you need to keep this little one safe and well.
I hope he is okay, last post was that he is in hospital.
Good luck for tomorrow

Mother and Baby unit's usually have license conditions and would by now have givien notice if it was as bad as you say.
Your son needs to get to hospital and find out what is going on with his child's health.
I dont know anything about the flat only that it is housing association its a new block of flats which has been built recently and house mums/ baby or couples baby but as she has baby still in her care they wont take flat away from her as they have been trying to get her to live there with baby
babies mum wont let him see him we have asked and my son dont want to go up there and get a lot of abuse as its not fair on baby
we will find out more 2moro first thing
my sons name is on the birth certificate has he got equal parental rights as the manager of the family centre told us he has but i didnt think he would have as they are not married

Well I suggest you find out - ask more questions on what SS is doing, frankly this situation is not sustainable. The child is now in hospital again, police and out of hours duty team need to be informed and this child quite possibly needs to be protected under police powers so no-one can remove him from hospital whilst SS go and get an emergency protection order from court in the morning.
Family Centre social workers have no power or duties other than reporting concerns to the local authority and supporting the family. They cannot seek legal advice or initiate proceedings.
Has yor son spoke to the hospital yet?Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -

I know I said i was out, but if the babba is in hospital and your son has full parental guardianship rights, then they cant deny him access without valid reason.Earn £10 a day JAN: £92.23 / £310 :j ...............NSD Jan 2/10
14 months to debt free with snowballing (start date Jan 2012) £0/12600........JAN weight loss target 5/60 pounds

Up until a few years back, unmarried fathers had very little rights re the baby, which is just a plain awful state of affairs. When I had my two, we werent married and my (now) husband and I discussed getting something drawn up legally to protect him. My limited understanding is that legislation came in to protect fathers a while back tho, married to the mother or not.just rang babies mum is not at hospital other grandmother is but asleep so as nurse can not tell me much due to data protection
But who is actually stopping you then? If the babys mum isnt there, has she detailed to the nursing staff by proxy that his father hasnt to gain access???Earn £10 a day JAN: £92.23 / £310 :j ...............NSD Jan 2/10
