Might be a good idea to register as a business whilst you're at it. ;)

Why would I do that? I haven't sold anything that I bought specifically to sell on.

did you originally send it with tracking?

No - unless it's a high value item, I go for cheaper postage and take the hit if it goes missing - only happened once.

    why do you ask?

I don't understand why you listed it like that with no decent photo (and a confusing description). I also don't understand why the buyer bought it- i certainly wouldn't based on the description/lack of photo and the seller 'terms'.

If the item really is only £2.70 with £2.50 postage, I would have done everything to resolve things amicably with the buyer- too much hassle otherwise for a low value item.

Also, suggest listing more accurately with decent photos and no lines about lost in post items etc

well im still un-sure what you have actually sold, however if i'd read vest and t-shirt I would have presumed a sleeveless top that can be worn as outer wear (a wife beater) and you were making the distinction that whilst its a vest (normally worn under clothing to keep you warm) it can be worn on its own. hence the t-shirt bit.

  • Next time if this happens with such a low item value, tell him he can keep it and you will give a full refund. Saves lots of hassle plus they might be nicer with their feedback.

Not a chance, I'll take the hit for the feedback (although I may be able to get it removed as it contains a defamatory word and he did try 'feedback blackmail').

But I'm not about to start funding idiots. He obviously still hasn't cottoned that he won't get his return postage back.

The feedback will not be removed, if you pay to get a sworn statement that it is defamatory then the feedback words are removed but not the negative rating.

Also I wonder if this was the reason for your neg:

That's right - you just happen to have absolutely loads army stuff lying around your house - all different sizes and regiments, etc. Not only do you have this stuff just lying around, you have it in multiples, too! Loads of rifle cleaning kits, new army cyalume lightsticks, belts, buckles, buttons, field dress, etc, etc. Now you might not be buying this stuff, but you are definitely acquiring it to sell on - hence you should register as a business.

Spookily enough, yes I do have lots of it lying around (you tend to acquire mountains of kit over 29 years). I still have a room full to get rid of.

funny how you have 'acquired' mountains of kit yet others are crying out for stuff. think the thread went against you when you started called the buyer an idiot.
