i've driven the original 170bhp version of the clio
yeah it was a fun little thing0 -
Boys and their toys!
I must be the most tolerant wife in the world and should get an award!
My hubby is car mad, he bought a Mazda RX8 nearly 2 years ago and though its lovely to drive, it drinks petrol and oil!
He also has a VW Corrado in the garage, which has been a car he has dreamt about owning since he was younger, I've never driven it but he tells me its fast! That's just been into the garage to have new door handles on!
Last night I caught him on the internet looking at buying a Renault Clio Williams! He wants to buy it and do it up and sell it on!
I know I won't be able to talk him out of it, my driveway is going to look like a garage if he carries on!!
rx8 with the quirky ownership puts me off some what0 -
Plenty cars are pretty quick and get very close to the 35mpg.
My last car was a Z4 3.0SE and I could get 40mpg on the motorway. normal driving including my commute I could see 33mpg.
231bhp and 0-60 in 5.7secs.
My current car is an Audi A4 2.0 T Quattro. It also gets close to 40mpg on the motorway and including my normal commute I can achieve around 33mpg with that too.
255bhp (after remap) and 0-60 is around 5.5secs.
Before the Z4 I had a 1.8 Toyota Celica (140bhp) and I could only get around 35mpg in that. It surprises me that both my cars since the Celica have been considerably more powerful but not used that much more fuel.
i had a celica 190, i miss the low slung and nice feel of steering and gearbox.
then a 1.8T remapped TT which could return 40mpg on a long run
would like a z4 3.0, but no back seats for the little one ;-(0 -
i would say for an average of 30mpg+ combined you'll need a diesel
alot of potential good tdi's out there, but at the end of the day it doesn't have the responsiveness of a petrol.0 -

Celica was quite low.....but it's high when compared to the Z4.
Z4 is the lowest car I've driven.
One of the guys at work got a Fiesta st150 so we went for a look.....and it felt like a bus when I sat in it....it was so high.
Of course it wasn't that high but in comparison it was.
Z4 is an awesome car.....I'll get another one sometime....but it'll be the Z4M next time!!
Keen photographer with sales in the UK and abroad.
Willing to offer advice on camera equipment and photography if i can!0 -
My 2008 1.8 Focus only does 31 mpg.
I used to have a Mini Cooper and that was doing about 35mpg, everyday driving.
Nothing fast and petrol will do 35mpg!
My Mini Cooper S averages 36mpg and my average speed is 36mph. Admittedly we don't have a lot of traffic lights round here! Not a supercar but definitely accelerates and goes fast enough to make meEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

z4 would be lovely.... but need 5 doors! lol0

My car only does 19 MPG and 25 MPG motorway miles.
Car has a top speed of 170 MPH0 -
Ah, why didn't you just say - you want a hot hatch! 5 doors might be a bit trickier but still doable. Honda Civic Type R - is there a 5 door in those? Toyota Corolla Kompressor might be older than you want, but will be reliable enough. Not sure what kind of Focus or Astra or Megane you can afford, but there are hot versions of all these cars. If you want to go RWD then a 3-series saloon of some sort, but you won't get 2008 ones I don't think...0

I found the mini cooper S quite poor on petrol. Cost me £20 to get to sheffield and back from Derby, and I wasn't really gunning it. Good fun to drive though, and you can reach license busting speeds far too easily.0
