I'd have imagined they'd take place at the same time, have you checked your account details online? A different sort code/account number was the only indication I've had so far. Hopefully Chambta/stclair will be along later to clarify the situation for you.

I've not read anything that said the Natwest 'transfers' would happen at any different time to the RBS ones.

I checked my bank after reading it on here, and my sort code is still the same. I received a letter about 6 weeks ago confirming that I have requested the change to another branch, so I expect it will happen eventually. I just want to stick with my main natwest account as I've had it for years.

    Probs wont happen...

They could issue you a new sort code but same account number.

(Remember sort code is just for location purposes)

    or

New sort code and NEW account number... (pointless) - but.. it happens

Depends how they feel.. but if they wanna complicate things then so be it.

Sorry, meant that I wanted to stick with Natwest as my main bank rather than keep all my account details.

I'm glad that I went to NatWest instead of RBS, even if they're part of the same group. I'm glad to be rid of Santander I couldn't stomach being dragged back into their domain. *shudders*

I have business accounts with Nat West. I was informed some time ago that these would be transferring to Santander. Unfortunately I already have banking arrangements with Santander !

So even if you are with Nat West, you may end up in Madrid !

Why don't you transfer your Natwest account to an English branch?

    Same for me.

I phoned the transfer helpline just last week to check when the new account would be created at my chosen Scottish branch, they could not tell me the date, but the process has started okay.

I am now keeping a close watch on all my Direct Debits to make sure they are paid on time.
The first one, from SKY should be okay because I got an email from SKY to confirm they had received my new bank details and the correct sort code / account (last two digits of each) is shown online in mysky.

    P.S.
Cheque books and debit cards will be replaced when they expire or when a new cheque book is ordered (Or before Santander take over the branches if sooner)

Me too. New 83- sort code and new account number. Wages due in tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Edit: Wages sent to the old sort code + account have arrived in my new account so that is working :)
