RBS Branch Sale Announcement

That's precisely what it says.0

I'm assuming that the old account will remain open for a period of time after the transfer has been carried out so that old cheques etc. that could be in the pipeline would be honoured.
However, at some point in time, after we have received our new cheque books and cards, but before the branch sale has been completed, then the old account would need to have been fully closed.
I assume this would be necessary so that Santander cannot get it's hands on any of the transferred customer accounts / details. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Have I understood the letter correctly- once accounts have been transfered customers can still use existing chequebooks (and debit cards) even though they have the wrong sort code on them?
Or
Just request a new debit card and chequebook
it should be the same account number but different sort codes
(this is what an RBS advisor told me) when i filled in the branch transfer form.• HSBC (Main A/C)
• Halifax Back up A/C
• Lloyds (Spending) A/C
• RBS Back up A/C
• Barclays Old A/C
• Nationwide Old A/C0 -

I filled out the branch transfer form on one account. As I understand it I can use the old details until told otherwise, RBS just route the transactions automagically to the new account.0

Does anyone know when the Natwest branch transfers are due to happen? I'm transferring my account from Glasgow to the city of London branch.0

I'd have imagined they'd take place at the same time, have you checked your account details online? A different sort code/account number was the only indication I've had so far. Hopefully Chambta/stclair will be along later to clarify the situation for you.0
