Ask at NatWest if I can switch from RBS and they tell me that normally they have an account switcher service that will sort everything out for me, but they are unsure if they are allowed to use it for RBS customers as they are already with the group. It will take 2-3 weeks to get an answer or I could open an account myself and switch everything personally.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Not sure why they were unclear about the process.
I've switched many from Natwest to RBS. It's a smooth process as the switching department is one and the same.0 -
silvercar, just open a new account yourself online. It's easy and by managing it yourself you know exactly what's happening.0

Probably the same place as the NatWest admin centre...
Most of the infrastructure is RBS group rather than RBS or NatWest.Dr_Cuckoo3 wrote: »The sort code is attached a RBS admin centre in Bolton , England
Will RBS be retaining any admin centres in England (other than Southend Credit cards) ?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
For those people who sent in a Transfer Request Form, RBS have started sending out letters to begin the process to automatically transfer accounts to the chosen Scottish branch. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Have I understood the letter correctly- once accounts have been transfered customers can still use existing chequebooks (and debit cards) even though they have the wrong sort code on them? :shocked:God save the King!
I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0
