Until early 2012 I believe, yes.0 -
as i stated in another thread, I will move my account from my local RBS Branch in North Wales to a scottish branch.
There is no way I'm being part of Santander , I was unfortunate enough to have to deal them once they subsumed a Christmas Club which I was treasurer for which used to be with Abbey. I will never deal with them again.
Anybody know what's the procedure to move your account from on RBS Branch to another or do I have to close the account and open a new one with a Scottish Branch ?0 -

You can go into your local RBS branch and request to open an account domiciled at a Scottish sortcode of your choice.
Alternatively you can do the same online.0 -
Sorry, confused. Are some RBS branches are becoming Santander? I'd have to leave RBS, there is no way I'm giving Santander a penny of my money.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

It's expected to be announced in the morning that all English and Welsh branches will be sold to the Spanish bank.
Whether they'll be branded Santander will up to the new owners.0 -

RBS had to sell it's branch netowrk (including customers) for it's English and Welsh branches as part of the deal for receiving state aid during the banking crisis. And it looks like Santander are buying those branches:eek:

They will also buy the right to the old 'Williams & Glynn' brand at the same time and will have the choice of reviving that and running a separate brand or integrate the network with their own.0 -

Regardless of where you live if your sortcode starts '83' then you will be unaffected unless outside Scotland and you presently use the local RBS branch.0
