    Hi

I got my first cashback from Phones2udirect of £120.

I had sent the 6th(aug) and 7th(sept) month Original bill along with covering letter with all the details and well withing 14 days to be sure as they have varying T and C. This was sent by recorded delivery and confirmed on Royal mail website that the letter was delivered.

I had sent them couple of Emails but no reply and was really worried.

It took 2 months for the cash back ...inspite of 45 days.

Also I threatened them by writing a letter (recorded delivery) that if my claims are not accepted by 23rd Oct as I havent violated any T and C , I shall go to small claims court , which would incur another £30 loss to them. I think the trick worked and I got the cash before i.e on 19th OCT.

I hope this helps. However I shall not take any more contracts with them.

I am thinking of having another contract with e2save , mobileoutlet , osps - so please advice how they in terms of cashback.

    Cheers.

Through no fault of my own I've lost some/all of my cashback
If enough people contact Watchdog we can maybe find out the scale of this fraud. Think about it - they receive their sign-up fees from O2 or whichever operator you've gone for and they have kept it, instead of passing on the cashback to us. Who knows how many people they have refused payment for.

    Watchdog online form:

    Thanks,

I've received all cashbacks due with some (non-legal) pressure applied
Currently they do pay out with enough pressure - if they get pushed into bankruptcy (for example new orders drying up due to bad publicity on watchdog) then we won't get anything...
    I think....
  • Very suspicious voting activities... out of the 7 votes for 'received cashback with no pressure', 6 of them were registered between 16Oct-19Oct and had no post counts on their name. Of course they could be genuine users just wanted to go through the hassle of registering and vote.

So do you think those poor people who have lost out on their cashbacks should not complain just in case phones2udirect get bad publicity and go bankrupt and affect those people who still have a chance of getting something? How would you feel if your claim is rejected and other people on the forum say "don't make a fuss, I haven't claimed mine yet"?

I don't have a contract with them but just want to make a point.

Could you (or anyone else that did the same) possibly copy and paste the letter you sent onto this thread as i'm considering sending them a letter about non-payment of cashback after 45 days as well. Also, which address did you send it to?

Well something has certainly worked. received my SECOND cashback cheque today!! I can have no complaints about the second installment except it was only 2 weeks ago I got the first.
Perhaps they are turning over a new leaf!!!!
Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS
  • I had to issue legal proceedings to receive some/all of my cashback
I waited roughly 90 days for my first cashback (my many emails were ignored), found this thread, and wrote to them stating if I didn't recieve my cheque by return I'd begin small claims proceedings.

Today I recieved my cheque, by return.

So if you WERE a customer would you rather lose out on 300 quid plus of cashback so that no one else got suckered in or continue getting your cash back eventually by threatening court action? I have to say I am not selfless enough to give up my 360 quid for just one contract - some deals offered even more cashback and you could have more than one contract - there is plenty enough about this company on here to warn people who can be bothered to search. For those who don't that is their choice, I don't want to give up my money to save them.
    I think....

I have only just register with this site today but I have been following the Phones 2 U Direct threads as I have had problems myself.

To put you in the picture: I purchased 2 phones both with 12 months free line rental. I sent my bills as stated to P2U on 13th July and they received it on 17th July, but I didn't realise that it was the incorrect bill (can't see why they can't just ask for a specific months bill like other cashback companies!)

I didn't hear anything from them and so e-mailed them on 4th August. I received a reply asking me to be patient and that they ask for a minimum of 28 working days to process claims (in the T&C it just says 28 days). I e-mailed again on the 21st August and received a reply on the 23rd August saying that they had processed my claim and that a letter was in the post but they had attached a copy. The e-mail informed me that I had submitted the incorrect bill. The letter was dated the 17th August but I did not receive it in the post until 3 days after the e-mail. I feel that if I had been notified within the correct timescales as per the T&C then I could have submitted my claim again on time. As it was I tried to send the correct invoice but it was too late. P2U have admitted in an e-mail that there was an overrun on processing my claim of 3 days on their part. I feel that if I had been informed on time then I could have submitted my claim correctly, P2U did not feel this and say that I still would have been too late.

I have today received another letter from P2U which is undated. It informs me that my 1st cashback was rejected as it was found to be too late to validate the claim. (This is incorrect as the 1st one was rejected because I had sent it too earlier).

It says that the 2nd claim was received too late and now tells me that as my previous claim was unsuccessful this nullifies any further claims as I have not had claimed correctly previously. It also stated in the letter that they have enclosed their T&C and highlighted sections that apply but I did not receive this.

What can I do now? Can I still take this matter further? Is it still worth issuing a claim in small claims court?

Thanks - I'll keep you posted!
