I love it under the beans for beans on toast ;)

    I had that last night!

I love Marmite but it does last us a while cos we don't slather it on :). Btw, if you run out of things to talk about with a friend from overseas on msn or whatever, try explaining what marmite tastes like. It makes for an amusing hour or so :rotfl:

It's delicious :D Especially on hot buttered toast mmmm

if your on a diet (or not) try it on ryvita (or crackers/crispbread of choice!) with a layer of cottage cheese on top. dont normally like cottage cheese but the marmite makes it seem nice. and the cottage cheese then tones the marmite down a bit!

also, it's the opposite of moneysaving, have you seen in the papers the special marmite lid you can buy made of solid gold (for the marmite lover who has everything?!) costs £thousands.

    Blimey 3 pages on marmite:D

I don't have any left now I scraped out the jar this morning:p :D
  • Tried asda's own Mrmite, as a true lover of Marmite, I was dissapointed to find that the cheaper own brand version tasted nothing like the original. So infact I wasted my money and will be chucking it in the bin.

Am I right in thinking it is a by-product of the brewing industry ? I've always assumed that was why it is made in Burton - but I may be totally wrong about the whole thing.

I had never tried marmite until I was pregnant with DD, I was suffering from the most horrendous headaches and the midwife told me to eat marmite on toast and drink orange juice, cured the headaches but got me addicted to marmite.

I had to go have a marmite sarnie after reading this thread.....we're all in the "love it" camp here and go through one of those big 500gm jars every 2 weeks or less.....I have it thick on toast and in a sandwich...yummmmmmy.

It's also my pregnancy indicator - I can't stand it when I'm pregnant and the smell of it used to make me heave - who needs to pee on a stick eh!
