Your car alarm

I'm not a fan of K&Ns as they are wet oiled filters and if you're not careful the oil can seep through and coat the sensor wire on your MAF sensor which will then never work right again. I'll eventually be going for the Apexi power intake.
As for getting it done. Well I've seen an Australian company that sells one. It's £545 and then the cost of shipping a huge chunk of cast iron from Australia.
Quite a bit then !
Thank's for letting me know about the K&N filters, as I did not know that, although I wouldn't have got one anyway.0 -
Yes. Still looking for a cheaper option as this wont be happening until next year. Need to switch to a more mod friendly insurer than Direct Line.
In the meantime I'm going to be paying off my one remaining debt and build up some savings, hopefully.0 -

Lum, I am with a fairly easy MOD friendly insurer, if you want to know who please message me privately as to many biting trolls...............0 -
Send me a PM if you like but I'm probably going to end up going with A-Plan, or a classic car insurers.0

Think masterblaster with 90 odd db hiding in the dash:eek:0 -
The only other alarm I know of that does it is Clifford and there's no way I'm having another Clifford.
My Clifford immobilised the engine - as I was turning across a busy A road, with a 3.5T trailer on the back
I won't be having another either - though TBH the quality of the alarm hardware is OK, it's the quality of the installers that's variable.0 -

Mine did that too, though fortunately it did it while I was parked outside my house.
Bypassed it by replacing one of the relays with a little jumper wire to turn the ignition permanently on and then running a wire from the yellow radio wire to the appropriate fuse on the internal fusebox, then drove it back to the alarm fitters who thought I was taking the P, driving there to complain that it had permanently immobilised my car, until they saw how I'd got it running and were rather shocked.
I also used to do this annoying chirp every time a cat farted within a 50 meter radius they were never able to fix that.
I now have a Toad AI606 which I'm much happier with. Only problem I have is that the manual claims the fob can be configured to open a second car (My GF's car also has an AI606) but the fitter didn't know how to do this and I haven't been able to find any instructions online.0 -
