I wish lol, all one year of it :rotfl:
My alarm is Cat 1 aparrently, whatever the hell that means. It just annoys me.0 -

:rotfl: - it's in a secure car park, although it wouldn't surprise me if they found a way in.
I don't see the point in car alarms tbh, by the time it goes off the window is broken (or whatever) anyway and all it does is make me look like a pillock in car parks when it goes off as I open the door. At least twice a day. :rotfl:0 -
Hi everyone
I hope that everyone is enjoying there weekend and the weather is bright and sunny where you are !
Anyway, I was only think the other day about my car alarm and if it were to go off, would I know it was mine.
I mean, I often hear car alarms going off in the street but no one really pays any attention to them any more.
If my car alarm were to go off, either accidentally or because someone was attempting to break into it I am unsure if I would know it was mine.
Mine is the factory fitted model by Ford, and no one can get into my car has I have double locking.
So, my question is, How many of you would know if your car alarm was going off and that it was YOUR car alarm?
As many cars now all sound the same, years ago a lot of people use to fit after market alarms and therefore they would sound different and you would know your own, but now alarms being fitted as standard by the car maker this isn't so easy!
If you think it's difficult to get into a deadlocked Mondeo...... I won't post the answer on here, but I'd be in one, (cleanly, no trace) within 120 seconds. It does require a bit of car knowledge though, deadlocking is good for keeping the "amatuers" away, it's certainly no bad thing.

My Mondeo is a 2000 late plate, with remote central locking/deadlocks and alarm.
The alarm has never gone off by accident, and have never had any problems with it.
Regards security, being my car is automatic, even if you could start the car, and without the key you couldn't, the auto box would remain locked in parked as the key enables the gears to be moved on the box, so besides that, the only thing in my car is a Bluetooth car kit (£100) and a NavMan (£150) and my insurance covers up to £700 and I have no excess, hence why anyone breaking into my car is not a worry to me0 -

Ah, the good old Clifford days on my Honda
LOL :rotfl:0 -
To be fair the "professional" car thief probably isn't looking for a 10 year old Mondeo when they can nick someone's Evo instead. Not worth their time, and what you have should stop most amateurs and opportunists from starting the car.0

True, but round here most people are looking for a easy target to get them home on a Saturday morning.0 -
They come under amateur and opportunists.
The professionals will nick a high value car without damaging or breaking anything, using a lot of skill and knowledge, and by the time you know it's gone, it's already in a shipping container on it's way to some foreign country.0 -
Car alarm? I dont have one. Lost the fob for it years ago and just to prove that such things are not needed and it is just a symptom of broken Britain paranoia, my car has never been touched and neither have i been burgled in my alarmless home(s) in more than 40 years.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
