I've just hooked mine up and i'm being a proper loser, going round switching things on and off :rotfl:
Right now i've got my pc, router, house phone and fridge/freezer (and obviously the energy fit monitor) turned on, sky plus is on standby, telly has been turned off at the back although i've checked and it makes no difference.
So my energy now is 180 watts, 45p per day, £13 per month.
I had my washer and dryer on when I first hooked it all up and I can't believe how much they use!
I know these things probably aren't super accurate but if it makes me more aware of what costs the most, then hopefully i'll be able to make some savings. :T:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy

Ok so I just put my dryer on again, and my monthly cost shot up to £140
Well i'm going to be investing in a clothes maiden that's for sure!
Oh it's gone down to £136 a month now, yay :rotfl: :rotfl:
Gotta put my washing on again now as well, let's see how much it goes up then! Think happy & you'll be happy

You'd be much better running it in Kwh mode rather than in cost mode. Cost mode is meaningless unless appliance usage is constant.0

It has both on it.
I am confused as to how they can work out the cost, because like you say, the appliance usage won't be constant so how can they say it'll cost £134 a month?
I'm not going to put much weight behind the cost, i'll just keep track of the watts and try to keep that as low as possible. Think happy & you'll be happy

My monitors clock seems to lose about 10 minutes each day, does anyone else have the same problem?
The graphs in the Energy Fit Software are really good, and certainly an eye opener just how much power the plasma tv / oven / dryer use!0 -
Hiya, I have just switched to eon and wanted to know how long roughly takes for the energy monitor to arrive?
ThanksFinally dealing with debt0 -
Hi crystyl
The Energy Fit campaign has proved enormously popular with demand far out stripping supplies. This has led to us running out of stock and having to re-order substantial quantities from the manufacturers.
Consequently, I'm afraid delivery is now approx 90 days from the date the monitor is requested.
Really sorry for the delay crystyl but hope you find it worth the wait.

It's just a conversion of the current usage to the programmed unit cost, it's no indication of actual monthly cost, as it assumes the item is on 24/7 as you say.
So it's useless a a guide to monthly cost. Run it in kW mode and then at the end of the month you can convert that usage to actual cost.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I received my pack yesterday and fitted the monitor, etc. All seems to work fine (Wattage readings all seem plausible) except for the clock on the monitor itself, which is running at three times the correct speed.
I know I need to report this to Eon to get it sorted or get a replacement, but wondered if anyone else had seen this problem. I'm guessing a manufacturing defect, but there may be some setting that you can alter on the monitor itself.
For example, if I set the time on the monitor to 10:00, it flips to 10:01 20 seconds later, and then to 10:02 another 20 seconds later and so on, making any time based readings meaningless - unless the downloaded data onto the PC is correct. I haven't had the unit long enough to check this.
Maybe the Eon rep on this thread can offer some comment?

Hi Geoff
Sorry to hear there may be a problem with your Energy Monitor.
I've not heard of your particular problem before but I'm not directly involved with the monitors.
We do have a team that look after technical enquiries/faults and they will be happy to help.
I would have a chat with this team and let them know what is happening. Contact details are on the instruction sheet and our website. Alternatively, drop an email to the address in my Profile.
They are available Monday to Friday between 11am and 7pm; and Saturday between 9am and 5pm.
Hope this points you in the right direction Geoff. Give me a shout if I can help further as will be happy to do so.
