I hate to say it but this would be the type of response someone would receive when they had sent an 'I love you' text. She is letting him down gently. Dont think she is the problem but he is.

Hope everything went ok last night - can I just say though that its easy to jump to conclusions on the basis of one single text? You have no other background knowledge or texts to go on?

You are obviously worried and hurt but it seems to me like you want this marriage to work, so please dont do anything rash, try to hear him out and take time to process whatever he tells you.

Didnt get to talk to him last night.... as put kids to bed then neighbour came round and asked me to help put up crib (we gave it to them) when i came back he had gone to bed....

He got up late and went to work early this morning so i will confront him this evening after the kids have gone down..

I really think i need to talk to him despite me being a head in the sand type of person - I took my sister to hosp appointment today and had to wait for her to have a little op.. I spent 2 hours crying in the multifaith room.... a nurse was so concerned for me she went and found the chaplin.....

Thanks for your concern it really means alot i dont have many friends and it is nice just being able to 'talk' to someone xxx

It might be better for both of you if you don't keep thinking about the "confront" part. You ask a reasonable question expecting a reasonable answer. If you anticipate a confrontation then that is most likely what you will get and that may not be what you want.

If he hadn't read the text message before he went to bed the other night I expect he's reallsied by now that someone had read it before he did.

unfortunately when it's making you feel this bad, you have to take your head out of the sand and address the situation.

Who knows, it could all be simply explained away and you can carry on as normal. But you need to know.

I think he knows you have read it and is avoiding you to an extent, hoping you will just let it go.

I agree with this.You have known for 2 days and obviously it will be in your head and tearing you apart, your behaviour will be different to usual especially if you are trying to keep calm for the kids.Your husband will have noticed you are not yourself, why has he not asked if everything is OK?

it is possible the woman in question is a manipulative little madam and is trying to make it look as though the husband is trying it on with her.

really it's not enough to go on.

personally i'd lay low for a while but keep my ear to the ground. if you ask him about it now with so little evidence you run the risk of turning into a screaming banshee and he may well not have done anything. if he is up to no good (or planning to be) he will slip up again in due course.

in the meantime perhaps it would be a good idea to try to work on your relationship. plan some nice stuff together and quality time even if it's cooking a special meal at home and watching a dvd you both like. if your relationship is strong you won't have insecurities like this (of course, this depends on his committment to you as well).
