As it appears you would be able to explain to him why you had seen the text I would just ask him about it.

"I've just seen a bit of a strange text from ..... to your phone" and see what he says.

Op, can you clarify if the message was 'sent' or 'received' and if it has a name attached to it or just a telephone number.

Was that the only message or were there others in the conversation?

  • Were also due to go out for lunch with his family at 130 today.....

He hasnt mentioned anything (he has his phone in his pocket on silent) so i guess our chat will have to wait until the kids are in bed tonight...

    We have been together for 10 years married for 6. . . . .

Ok thanks, I think something may have been said at the party or happened at the party.

As she started it with 'no you think you do' that sounds to me as though she is replying to something he has text'd her, as it's not there in his phone I think that's a bit strange if it was inocent. But then if he was waiting for a reply surely he wouldn't go to sleep expecting one.

I think the best thing is to ask him, just say you thought it was a text about walking the dogs and what does it mean.

It can very easily look as though it means something wrong, so surely he can't be mad for that and will offer you the reassurance you need.

one of my todlars had it hubby left his clothes (phone in jeans pocket) on the floor when he came home.

I thought the text message would be from his mum asking if we were walking the dogs this morning....

wouldn't a text come up with the name of person who sent it? so when you read it you would know it was from this woman.
Makes me wonder if you were a bit suspicious already?

I would abort the family meal and have this out with him, otherwise you will sit at the meal with your mind going on overtime & probably say something at the table.

    No time like the present..

I'd phone parents and say he's ill/hungover whatever, ask if you can drop off the kids with them as they're looking forward to it, and go home and have the talk without the kids there, you can't stew on this all day :)
