Alan,
When you say the insurer withdrew from the travel industry does it mean they cannot pay out and have or are going bust or that they dont want to be in this situation again? (in your opinion, obviously).
Can I ask, if I've only got flights to claim back (as we used the hotel part of the package and rebooked our own flights) would Bookable be able to send my claim to ATOL instead? If you have no idea then please dont worry.0 -
Ponkle - check out my previous posts - Package Holiday booked months before the collapse - I've emailed / telephoned & Wrote to Bookable for a refund but I've not completed the Claim Form waiving away my legal rights.0

Well its a very long thread so might not be able to find enough time to read all your posts but I seem to have missed this information about NOT filling out the bookable claim form as it waives our legal rights. I cant even remember reading that on the claim form. No doubt it was in the small print or something. That is very worrying indeed.0

Worrying it may be, legal it isn't. The Package Travel Regulations make it clear that when an operator cannot provide the holiday booked, they must give a full refund or offer an alternative holiday, the law makes no mention of deductions for anything. Reading the letter from Bookable to ABTA it seems it is Bookable that is the insured, not the customer so that any delay is not the customers fault at all.0

Some good news....finally.
Received a letter today from the CAA advising a refund will be made to my designated bank account within 14 days in respect of the Goldtrail claim.
The amount quoted for the refund is correct (for me) and no deductions have been made. My booking was through Travel republic.

Am I the only person to have booked with these people (Airborne Direct)?
I have been waiting since July to get my money back. Please people, do let me know if you are in the same boat as me. I would especially be interested to know if anyone has got a refund yet after sending off your claim form to them?
Good luck to everyone out there awaiting refunds.
I have just contacted the CAA asking them whether they are processing claims yet from Airborne Direct as they told me, more than a month ago now, that they were in talks with Airborne Direct to find out the best way to proceed.
So frustrating. Just give me my money back please!:mad:0 -
I booked with On the Beach and received an email today saying that my refund was ready for me. The only problem is that my claim was for £908 and they have only refunded me £777. I've called them but they have said the difference is due to an admin charge of £40 and I can't be re-imbursed for in-flight extras which came to £90. The in-flight extras was in fact my luggage allowance, not extra luggage just normal luggage. Does anyone know if there's any way I can get them to reconsider this. I've asked OTB to email me a breakdown of the costs and I've also contacted the CAA but only got recorded message telling me to email them.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

What?! Are you saying they have deducted the charge for luggage in the hold on the plane for each of you?! :eek:0
