I'm keeping to the plan. Went for a run after work, same 3.6'ish miles but tried to keep on the grass as much as possible. Was nice.

Didn't get out for a run yesterday. Had to do a late at work cos there was no-one else to do it and then had a friend coming over for dinner and needed to tidy up the house so just no time...

Hi all, I'm having a week off running (recovery!! lol!). I didn't get my goal of doing Redcar in under 2hrs 30 which I was disappointed about :(

I think the fact I did the Blaydon Race on Thursday 9th June which was 5.97 miles in 63 minutes didn't help! I didn't realise it was virtually 10K to be honest so I really shouldn't have done it with the Redcar Half being 3 days later but hey ho!

So that's my half's done until September's GNR!

Hey k_bagpuss. Shame you didn't get under 2.30 but you were very close so don't be too disappointed.
Ok, so I only managed 2/3 of my runs last week but am still aiming for 4 this week.
First one will be today after work, no training tonight so will be easy to fit it in. Might try to go for bit longer but we'll see. Sunny atm but forecast is rain for the evening.

sounds like pulling out the half I should have run yesterday was the right move.

had a GP appt this morning for something totally unrelated to the reasons for doing so, but while there I mentioned I was still getting some grief from a knee (only if I kneel down) after 4 weeks of iBuprofen as instructed by another GP (which got me a prescription for a stronger anti-inflam) and asked if I should be concerned I'm still coughing up phlem 3 weeks after picking up my cold given it does finally seem to be starting to reduce (on listening to my chest she announced I have a slight rattle in the 'upper left lobe' and gave me a course of anti-biotics because of how long it's lingered)

so I've now got 19 days to my 10km RFL, and need to get back into training for it as I'm struggling to do more than a mile or two at the moment - so I'm hoping to be clear of at least the cough in the next week to enable me to crack on......
