I'm not exactly a runner - more power walker but did London Marathon this year (on my things to do before you're 60 list) and the London moonwalk a couple of weeks ago. Now back to morning and evening walks with the dog. Have a place for the Great North Run and a copy of 'Running made easy' - session one tonight.0

Good luck with your first session, GraciesGran
I haven't been out for a run for a week and a half, going for it this afternoon, though (only 3 miles). I've got so much going on that it's hard to fit it all in!

Just recorded my run from last Friday - 9.39miles in 1hr 39. So average pace of 10:32.6/mile, but happy enough with that as on the first lap (of the 5 that I did) I 'ran' with a 10 year-old lad who was struggling from half way round - managed to get to him to walk a bit, and when we kicked off again he announced he wanted to sprint the last stretch so I then worked on keeping his speed down to leave him with enough energy to do so. And on the last lap I kept to the pace as set by Andy McMenemy (whose challenge it was), and he took quite a long walk break during it.
Been out this morning for my first run since then. 7.11 miles in 1hr 11.05, giving an average pace of 9:58.2/mile. This was pretty much the same route as I did on Wednesday & Friday of 2 weeks ago, apart from a slightly different start which shortened it slightly (by 0.1mile). On the previous runs I completed it at 9:45.4/mile and 10:06/mile - so, given I took a lot more walking breaks today, I'm fairly pleased with thatCheryl0 -
Hi all, I did the Edinburgh half marathon on Sunday in 2hrs 30mins and 01 second! Last years time was 2hrs 38 so I am happy with my PB but at the same time gutted I missed hitting 2:29 by 2 seconds!!!Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.0

80 mins in the sunshine first thing for me today - was nice to be out there, I have to say!
No races planned in the short term for me, so just building up the miles and enjoying the running over the summer is my plan.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hello ladies! And well done for everyone who's been running out there!
I finally went for a run. Nothing big, just nice and easy 3.6miles in 39mins. It's a start. Bit hot though in the sun.
I've been very demotivated this year and though I've done bits and bobs, I've not managed to stick to running. Hoping to change that now. Aiming for 3 runs this week.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

I know what you mean about demotivation tirlittan....
I have been trying to lose weight and have been focusing more on cutting calories than being fit.....I haven't had enough energy to run the last few weeks but I've given myself a good kick up the bum - I feel much better a bit bigger and running than smaller and no energy whatsoever so am going for my first run in weeks today, even if it's only for 20 minutes I will do it

I'm back on track running again after getting the all clear from the physio.
Back up to 5k now in 30mins and in a couple of weeks will be working back up to 10k over the next couple of months
Went for a run after work today and it was warm out there! Today's run was hard work as my legs were aching from the weekend and felt a bit run down with a mild cold

very little running done in the last couple of weeks, as I picked up a cold that's hit my chest.
means I've had to pull out of the half-marathon I was down for this coming Sunday, but having tried a treadmill run last Sunday and struggled to do 3 miles before my breathing started to become a problem I think it's the wise choice......
so I've now got 3 weeks to get back into shape before my 10km RFL on 9th July - and a 5km club charity run the following day !!!Cheryl0
