hey there K! Good to see you back. I too will forever be a plodder, but plodding is still goodSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Hmmm, I don't think 2hr 14min on training run for half mara is a plodder time hypno.
But I've realise too that plodding is not such a bad thing. As long as we enjoy it, it's just fine.
I went for 3 runs this week, all probably max 3miles and I didn't time them or know the exact distance. Went with my dad but didn't do as much as him. Funny, when I went back home last summer, I was much fitter than him,now it's the other way round. I blame the 5weeks I've missed in training in the last 3months due to being ill...:(DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

At least you're getting out there, though, tirlittan and you are building yourself up again
I went for a 4 mile run on Saturday, but not yesterday...I'm hoping to go for at least 6 miles today....it's a beautiful day outside, but I'm still not ready to run out there - I'm such a wussso treadmill...here I come! x

Hi LittleMiss
Gosh I was the same as you 18 months ago, wouldn't have ran outside for love nor money! But it really is so much nicer, especially on a loverly day like today. Now I put on my baseball cap and my shades and stick my headphones in and just do it, and I've never had anyone be awful (if anyone has said anything I wouldn't have heard them anyways!) People just get on with their own business just like they do in the gym. Sometimes I'm only just faster than them when they are walking but it doesn't matter.Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.0 -
I much prefer running outside - and only use my treadmill either when there is too much snow and ice on the road, or if I am struggling to fit in a run and need to do something later at night, when it is simply too dark to run outside (no streetlights where I live).
But on a beautiful spring day, there is nothing better than getting out there and pounding those pavements!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thanks LittleMissHappy. Yeah, I'm starting to get back out there again which is good.
I have to leave the running for little bit less now as need to concentrate on getting general fitness up as planning to do the 3 peaks in Yorkshire at the end of May. Thinking running twice a week, Shred 3x, one 10k easy cycle and one hike at the weekend.
Last week was ok though. Tue-run, Wed-run, Thu-cycle,Fri-lots of walking,Sat -run,Sun-10mi hike up Cribin,Pen-y-Fan and Corn Du. I also cycle to work everyday and am planning to make a more of a round trip to get miles in.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

I did start by running outside, but it's so much more easier to run on my treadmillI watch movies while I'm running
I am planning on running outside soon, just need to gather myself (my courage!) and do it!
3.6 mile yesterday and 5 the day before......
Happy running, folks xBe the change you want to see in the world - Gandhi

Well done LittleMissHappy! When you get used to running outside, you won't want to go back to the treadmill anymore.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

I had a good session yesterday but was too knackered to log on! Had a steady 2.5K run down towards the beach, then we had a strength session - running across the bay on the sand then running up a steep back of steps; walking down the very steep slip road and then running hard back up it, and then a final walking down the steep slip road and up the steps again! And then the slow 2.5K run back. A total of 6.82k in 50 minutes :jGood wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.0

I went for a run last night and I just didn't have anything in me,after 1.2mi I had to stop, but did start again and run back home and ended up doing just 2.2mi
:(:(. However, this was after 3.5mi cycle, but still, am so unfit I've never been this unfit in my life and the way up is just so hard...will keep going though, there's no other choice.
