Hi mascott - 10KM is only 0.8 mile less than 7 miles so not much difference with what we both did.

Went out again last night but just did 5 miles but went on the sand.

I can let the dog off for a 'mad run' if no other dogs are about

6 miles on 7th, 4 miles yesterday, 3.7 today...I'm going to do maybe 7 tomorrow and Friday off (am going ice skating instead) :)

The 4 miler and 3.7 miler were at varying speeds from 6mph to 6.7mph...I'm trying to build up speed slowly :D

Hope everyone is out there running and that is why it is so quiet ;)

Friday's run was down to 2 miles - legs just didn't want to run at all (slightly painful rather than aches), so I listened to them

Haven't been out for a 'proper' run since then, but have still been walking the dog (apart from yesterday, when I was just to tired after 3 days of 7am-5pm at work!). And I'm managing to get him to run some of the route - albeit a lot slower than my running pace it's still not bad for him, and I'm aware I need to build it up for him the same as I had to for me.

At the weekend he was reluctant to trot on the flat (happy on the downhill towards the start of the route), but on Monday night he carried on once we hit the flat for a similar distance. On Tuesday he did the same, and a few minutes after dropping to his walk speed (and still on the flat) he started to pick up the pace again for another 7-8 minutes or so - just a tad too quick for me to walk, but a very uncomfortable slow jog!! (Forced myself to do it though, as I want to encourage him)

  • 4.8 miles today @ about 6.5mph - I won't be running tomorrow and am hoping to do 7-8 miles on Saturday.

    Hello all.
Finally been running a bit this week as my dad was visiting and he wanted to make use of the warmer weather here in UK. Probably only did 3mile'ish on both tue+wed, and yesterday I just didn't feel like it so took the bike out instead and did a slow 6.5mi whilst my dad was running. Have not been feeling 100% for the past two weeks so it was good enough start and hopefully get back into it now.
    Good running everyone else!

6.25 miles for me last night - got cramp after a couple of miles so one leg was very tight for most of the way, but that aside, I really rather enjoyed it.

As for tapering, mascott - I have done less in the way of training than I really should have done, so I think I am going to have to work hard up until that last weekend before, then basically have a rest week before the big day :o

Morning all - 15.13 miles done in 2hrs 35 this morning - beautiful weather out there although a bit windy across the fields in places, but the birds were singing, the daffs are out and the whole thing was actually rather enjoyable!

It is the Norwich Half today, and my runchum is doing that, so I checked my garmin at 13.1 miles and was pleased to see it say 2 hrs 14, which is 3 mins quicker than my Ipswich Half in August (which was the last one I did)....so I was more than happy with that.

5 weeks til marathon day

Hello peeps, remember me? Long time no visit this thread!! Nice to see a few familiar names still here.

Well, I'm still plodding away attempting to get a wee bit faster, to be honest I've resigned myself to always being a plodder but thats fine - I'm still doing it. I've lost 2 stone since I started running and have another 2 stone to lose. In order to keep myself motivated I've entered a few more runs which are listed in my signature (I've also entered the Leeds Half Marathon on Sunday 8th May but for some reason I can't add it!)
I did a slow 10K today (1hr 11 mins) 1st 10K of the year due to various colds, chest infections and pulled calf muscles!

    :T
