  • Ran a tad over 10 miles today.....did 7 miles and then stopped to do dinner etc for everyone, then decided I could probably do a bit more :D Felt like I could do more, but don't want to push myself. I'm missing my DH which is why I am running so much - hopefully I will take it a bit easier when he is home again...:)

wow - fab runs going on from everyone!

I have just done 7.33 miles - 73 mins so am happy with that considering it was blowing a gale across the fields so every direction I ran in seemed to have either a head wind or a cross wind - never did it seem to blow in my favour......oh the joys of rural running I guess!

I would have liked to have gone a bit further, but didn't realise I was doing 10 min miles......if I had stuck to my plan of a steady 11 min mile run I would have done more......but hey, I just went with the flow and am going to be happy enough with that all things considered!!

Happy running to anyone heading out today, and don't get blown away!!

Afternoon all, am sneaking back in again having neglected my internet for a while.
Sneaked out yesterday for an off roader with my OH geographically chllenged boy and what should ahve been a nice 1 hr run turned into 3 hrs up a muddly hillside.....but then again there was vast amoutns of mud and hills so I was happy:j
Was a bit worried as my knees were killing me and the suddenly realised that all the bruises from Tough guy were appearing ( both my knee caps are black) which might explain the pain:p
Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

  • Hi - Just my 2nd run in my new trainers - been having a few problems with cramp in my calfs. However thought I had better do a bit today as tend to get a bit grumpy if I dont do any.

Set off at 1.45 and got back at 3.15 - not sure how far as it was windy, raining and the dog kept stopping for 'pit stops'.

Dog is now asleep on settee and I can watch the liverpool game in peace

I will be buying new trainers this week - my current ones now have that "rigidness" about them that is not so great. If I get new ones now they will be nicely run-in for the marathon in April :D

Tonight I run in Manchester. Because it was dark I had to keep on the roads so could not do my usual route on the banks of the Mersey. Went on the hill but run much loger that uo it and back again - so altogether 1h 20 min. Feeling good - but need to build stregth rapidly.

Hehe, never thought of watching movies! That would distract!

Well, i had a short 2 mile run on Friday, and tried a wee 8mph increase to see how it sat with me. I managed it, not particulalry comfortable so 7.5 is better for me.

The PT i had an appointment with on Saturday had been talking me through what he planned on treadmill.....including that wee move when you grab the side handles and plant your feet on the side barriers to take a break/drop heart rate or whatever it is! So i gave this a bash also as i fully expected to fall over and wanted to make sure i was ok with it before complete humiliation! Bad move as my heel clipped the moving treadmill and i had to do a wee yank of the ankle to correct it. My ankle was niggly after that, but not painful or anything.

The PT appointment on Saturday morning was fantastic, he was working me on the TRX Suspension thingy, and i really did enjoy it. It was tiring but fun at the same time. So am looking forward to getting a program made up to work away at.

Onto Sunday evening and i noticed my ankle was really quite swollen and still a little niggly, which has continued. So disappointed as no gym until this settles :(
