  • Evening everyone. I have only managed one run a week for the last couple of weeks due to family comitments and stuff. It is definitely harder to push myself out of the door in the winter. I can't wait to be able to run out on the fens again it is far too wet at the moment to run on.
I have lost the G28K on my ipod. Don't ask me how or why...I am adding it to my job list. So I ran the freeway to 10K week 9 which was still on my ipod. It was fine. I don't have any park runs near where I live I did look, I think I will have to look and see if I can find a fun run or something to help push me on.

Well done little miss happy, better running inside than not at all. I didnt' go for a run as it was too cold, but went for a walk (it ended up not being too cold after all as the glorious sunshine warmed very nicely).

  • Following on from the discussion on high mileage training, I trained exactly to a plan, at 6 runs a week, for the 2010 VLM, I got up to 58 miles per week, and my race went to plan.

This year I do not have the time to put that much in, nor the dedication, so for my 1/2 marathon training I am focussing on one long run a week, which will be 10,then 12 miles, and a couple of shorter runs, so afterwards I will be able to tell if this approach has been enough, I also cycle around 50-60 miles a week to keep the cobwebs off.

I did it. Got up early, took DD to breakfast club and ran just over 2 miles :j I found a loop about 1.5 miles near work and my aim is to be able to go round that twice on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

  • Well done Marru :)

I did 2 miles @ 10 min miles and just over a mile at 8.30 min miles (running a total of 30 mins) yesterday. Don't know if I am going to run today or have a rest.

At last! I went for my 4.5mile run and I felt good! Legs were light and springy and driving me forward and not the lead weights I've been dragging around recently. I guess starting running and cycling at the same time has helped and now I've had 4 easier days and legs have obviously refreshed. Usually do this between 48-52minutes and now managed 44mins! I don't really go for speed on my runs (unless it's park run) just building back up to 20miles a week but really pleased with this evenings run. :)
