  • Sounds good, tirlittan :D

I went for another run today - only 30 mins and a mix of 12 mins running 10 min miles and 18 mins running 9 min miles. I am trying to build up speed as well as distance. My DH is going away tomorrow until Sunday so even though I know I should have rest days, I will probably run every day as a stress reliever....I really miss him when he is away :( So I will be trying to get so tired that I won't have problems sleeping!

Hope everyone else is getting lots of good runs in x

    Hey runners,

i have managed to get my time down to 3 miles in 25.46 mins. Was happy with this but realised i am focusing on the time, and what i really want to do is enjoy it more and be more effective.
Soooooo, i spent an hour chatting to one of the personal trainers at my gym today, and have appointment with him Saturday morning. He plans to teach me to use the TRX suspension straps for better core muscles/balance and follow it by doing interval training on the treadmill. He seems to know what he is talking about so fingers crossed!! Lots of talk about opening my stride up and optimal heart rates......over my head at the moment but i'd be delighted to have some professional guidance to steer me in the right direction.

I am due to spend weekend in Glasgow soon so might give the Parkrun a bash! I am terrible with the cold but will need to bite the bullet sometime and get my butt out there.

    Enjoy your running people :-)

narak_y that sounds really good...I would be interested to hear how you get along once you have been :)

  • Well done all,

A 10 miler up the hills for me so I feel ok about getting round the half in a few weeks,

I feel a nice easy 3 miler today is in order.

Good luck to all those all heading out later....

  • I did do another 3 miles last night and another 6 today both 10 min miles. I may have another run tonight or maybe just rest. I'm finding it very relaxing to be running so much at the moment - stress relief!
Wow, mascott514, looking forward to the day I can run 10 miles up hill :D

not a thing for me so far this week :(
and the weekend's looking unlikely as the forecast is all for torrential rain (haven't even looked at wind strengths)

Today I ran in a little town nea Bristol. Gosh, it is hilly - feeling exhausted and I only run for about 40 minutes. Tomorrow again and then Sunday a long run.

I went for a run today and boy are my legs aching tonight! Not sure why, as it was my shorter route. Managed to dodge the worst of the weather after the wind and rain of the last 2 days

Think it might be down to maybe running quicker (didn't feel like it at the time!) due to the running music on podrunner or if I just hadn't had enough to eat today and I ran out of energy?

Anyway, good job I'm having the day off tomorrow to recover and hoping to get out again on Monday
