Good morning fellow runners. Week 7 run 1 done:j Thats three 15 minute runs with a 1 minute interval between each. It was very nippy this morning and I was glad when the five minute warm up had ended..
Good luck to anyone running today:)Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -
Week 3 completed today 4 x 10min runs and 4 x 1 min intervals. Was nippy here too but then really warm in the sun, so kept swapping between hot and cold in sun and shade.
A good run today and a day off tomorrow

I really enjoyed my runs this weekend, so much so I kept thinking about them today and how much I am looking forward to getting back out there again tomorrow.
Feels like the buzz has kicked back in again after a couple of months away.
Plus today 2 colleagues remarked on how much better I looked and how thin my legs were. Now that's what I call a result!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Completed Run 1 Week 5 today on G28K - feels like I'm getting closer now to the 8K. A few more weeks to go. Might go again tomorrow if its dry for Run 2. Went well and I can feel my fitness improving at last. Achy legs and quads now!
Also getting used to running after work now - nearly talked myself out of it and then decided to go as the thought of running in the very cold morning tomorrow really put me off! Glad I went on autopilot and did it!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

You make me feel SO guilty. I really thought about going out tonight but it is so cold and wet..........:o I enjoyed my run so much on Sunday and it made me feel good. I will kick myself up the back side tomorrrow and run...really I will:oEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -
Ran last night for Run 2 Week 5 and managed to dodge most of the winds luckily as they got much worse later on - going well and up to 44mins now. Started thinking about the next stage past 10k and decided on half marathon length for the next stage. Will start that next year and build up slowly to that stage as its worked great so far and got me from 0mins running to 44mins and aiming for 50mins over the next month for the 10k
When I write this down I can't quite believe how far I've come from July to now. Still enjoying running hugely and looking forward to hitting the 10K target!
Where have all you runners got to?
Are you taking the winter off?
Just wondered as this used to be a very chatty thread and now its me and teachergirl having a little chat!
Happy weekend running everyone! My next run is planned for tomorrow as it looks fine around herefinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Fedupandskint Yep me again. I haven't run:o I have got a cold fluey thing. I can't decide what to do. I have to be very very careful as my Dad has virtually no immune system so I have to try and stay healthy. From what I have read running should help with the immune system but I can't risk that it would make me feel worse and then I would have to stay away from him for even longer. I took my daughter to the othodontist this morning. There was a large mainly fashion type sports shop opposite so I went in and have bought myself some running tights!!! Unlike you who have had such nice comments my teenage daughter said "oh Mum I think they are supposed to be worn by skinny people"
Anyway I am dying to try them out, so I will try and do at least one run this weekend.
I had been thinking to myself I wonder if you had been out running. Well done you on your running.:jEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -
Look after yourself teachergirl - when I had something similar I didn't run for a month as I felt so bad and then it took a bit of getting back into!
Be careful as your dad has a low immune system and try and build yourself up
When I bought my running tights I thought I looked like Max Wall (remember him?!), now I look like a slightly thinner version - hey who cares when you're improving your fitness?final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Well I ran very slowly and tiredly today on Run 3 Week 5. Couldn't wait for it to finish! Will see how I feel tomorrow to see if I can manage another run this week.
Still its done now and onto Week 6 next time for G28Kfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Morning everyone. Well I managed week 7 run 2 this morning. I'm glad I let my body rest and I still don't feel 100% but I don't feel like I have overdone it either , as I managed the run quite comfortably. I was very sensible and even carried water as my bunged up nose means I was going to breathe through my mouth more.
fedupandskint you are going great guns. Are you runing everyday now? Max wall definitely!!! My tights felt like they were holding everything in...shame they don't reach my stomach:o I think I looked quite good for a middle aged lady...my turquiose top co-ordinated beautifully with my running shoes and it looked like I had bought it on purpose:D
Anyone else running????Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0
