Hi guys,
did my circuits today - had to improvise a bit but it was fine. After that went out and walked for hours. As to the shred - I am seeing things about shredding everywhere. Wondering whether the Universe is trying to tell me something.

Hi all
Can't believe I forgot to come on and log my run from Sunday. Did the GNR in 2.12 (but officially 2.23 due to toilet stoppages ) :j
I enjoyed it sooooo much and am still on a high! The atmosphere was fantastic, really warm and friendly. We were so late getting there due to train problems, that they had already started packing up the start line, so we ran the first 2 miles alone - not a person in sight. This was great as we were able to get into our stride straight away.
I'd highly recommend it and am definitely going to enter for next year. I've even spotted a 10 mile race I might do in 2 weeks
Have a good week everyone!0 -

Well done macgirl! Annoying re: toilet stops...
I didnt' get to go for my run yesterday as bf spotted a really fab deal for a waterproof jacket I've been after for ages, so had to go and get that instead. At least it involved more cycling. Going out tonight though.
And I've just ordered my own copy of Shred! Can't wait to get it!!!DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Hi all looking for some advice on shin splints - used to run quite regulary 5 years ago and never had any injury problems. Started again about 3 months ago and I think that I probably waited too long to get new trainers (went to proper running shop and got filmed on treadmill etc to check they were right ones) and tried to do too many miles too quickly. Anyway i rested for 3 weeks but went out for a run last night as it kicked in after about 5 mins so had to stop - please please any advice as I was really starting to enjoy it again and am gutted that I cant run
thanks xxxxCC debt Aug 2018 £50.2K

Hi Scotdebs. Welcome on board. Unfortunately I can't give you any advise as never suffered from shin splints. I'm sure someone will come who can offer you advise otherwise you could check o runnersworld.co.uk, I'm sure there'll be some good advise there too. Hope you get better soon and can continue enjoying your running.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Hi
I occasionally get this and have been told (not by a professional), that rest is the only real way and it is trying to do too much too soon.
When it happens to me, I rest until I am better, then ease back in to it

Hi there,
I had this once - the advice I got was to stretch before running. Particualrly important to rotate your feet around (sequentially of course).
Works with me.

Just back from the little gym here. Did a tiempo run - outside this is the one where you speed up or down dpending on how you feel. On a treadmill there is a modification which makes the existence of this machine easier to take. I start at my resting speed (5.2 miles) and run at that for 10-15 min. Then start gradually increase the speed - so I run 3 min at 5.5; 2 min at 5.5; 2 at 5.9 and so on till you get at the speed which you cannot keep for longer than couple of minutes (for me about 7 miles per hour). Then start going back down...
Hard but sweet...

I ran my first 6 miles today!!! Well 6.3 really in 1:02:00. Was quite pleased with that as not ever run that distance before, and took it steady and felt quite fresh at the end and not tired at all.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0
