  • I so need to join this- my running motivation has gone way out the window lately... actually I would class myself as more of an endurance walker/ slow runner but since doing an ultra race last year that I had been training for for over 2 years I have really struggled to get back into it... and have put on over a stone (probably well over!) so really really really need to get my butt kicked!
  • ... however I feel carp today and think I'm coming down with a cold :(... was going to go the gym as well...

    Hi Luckystepho!

Welcome on board. Bloody hell, ultra runner! I guess if that was your long term goal and you've now achieved it, maybe your body and mind are saying it's time for a rest?

    What race did you do?

    Hmmm, getting very quiet here...

I went for the park run yesterday. Found it quite hard going and didn't think my time would be very good. But for the last two k managed to slot behind a good pacer then overtook her in the last 200m.Was hoping my time was better than my first ever time of 28:06 but didn't think I did as well as my pb 26:25 so was very surprised that my time was 26:38. It's amazing how much cycling, rest and other activities help even if you haven't been running loads.

I did an hour this morning - in order that I can justify sitting on the sofa with coffee and a fleecy blanket to watch the GNR on the telly :o

    Hi Luckystepho and welcome.

Today I am to do my long run - it has to be about 2 hours and 20 minutes. Problem is that I am in a hotel, on the other side of the ocean and it might turn out well and turn out really badly. It will be splendid if the national arboretum is safe to run in (and I can get to it without jumping over fences and crossint 10 lanes motoways); it will be really pants if I have to do that on a treadmill.

Going to look for a site with running routes and hoping for the best.

  • Still no running as made up with flu still - missing the running and getting out of the habit - should be out there soon - hoping some time next week will be back out there when I feel better. Not up to much apart from sitting on the settee feeling rubbish
