I am back running :j Did very gentle and slow 2 miles this morning. Going to now aim for 4 times 2 miles per week and not even think about the long runs for awhile (saying that I will be doing 4 miles on Thursday)

Lord, what a session! Just back from running club where did speed training. Hard, sickening, humiliating - but that is the price to pay for becoming a mean, lean running machine. What I am thinking is that I have to figure out a way to make my legs longer as well - all others are skinny, tall, young men. (changing gender is not an option, I rather enjoy my life as a woman)

I haven't been running for ages...:( With looking for flats/finding one/packing/unpacking/trying to make the place livable...yes I know, excuses excuses. Was supposed to go last night but ended up sorting out the spare bedroom, putting the bed frame together and bedside table and another bookcase, moving bookcases and sorting out stuff/boxes. See if I have time for a short one today. It's no good as my cycle to work is shorter now as well so definitely don't get enough exercise atm.

Remember wolveslass that muscle weighs more than fat so take some measurements as well and you'll see the change in those.

    Good running everyone!

Day 2 Week 1 of the Gateway to 8K this morning - very enjoyable, however finding it strange running so early in the morning at 5.40am!

Walked for the 5min cool down after a 35min run and I extended the run again, only to be told by a cyclist 'you're supposed to be running not walking' thanks mate!

Hi guys, no runnign for me today but a good old and hard circuit - 47 press ups, 60 squats and 67 pull ups repeated a number of times (with 500 m rowing in between). All part of training according to my trainer. makes every part of me stronger including my mind - my capacity to suffer raises every day.

Finally! I went for a run yesterday straight after work, that works for me best and it was lucky bf didn't get home before me.
As I've moved (and don't know the running routes yet) and haven't run for ages, I was just going for a gentle jog and to do what I felt like. So into the park I went, it's huge and just kept running; it was really nice actually, mostly running on the grass and no traffic close by. Thought I'd probably manage half an hour, I didn't have a watch on me or anything to tell the time (that's how I like it, running on how I feel). When I got home and checked the time I was pleased to discover I'd manage to run for 50mins. When I have time, I'll try to map my route to see how far I went. Probably not that far as was running slow and steady.
    But I've been out!!!!:j

Hi El and well done for getting out there. As to 'good' - I always say that I am not good in most things I do and try; I am just very keen which does me fine.

Treadmills - my answer will be 'no'. For me one of the great benefits of running is actually being outside - in rain, snow, sunshine, heat etc. And treadmills are so boring it is unreal...
