No running for me this week have been poorly with a virus and can't drag myself around on a run. Hoping to feel better this weekend and get out there for a run. Really don't want to get out of the habit as quickly as I got into it! On the road to 8K when I get back out there

Marru, sorry to read this - but you are doing the right thing demoralising a sit is.

As to me, I went to Boot Camp the evening before last and going to The Hill for a hill training session now. Boot Camp was fine - in fact it was really easy going but I suspect it has something to do with the fact that it was the first one and there are people there who are really beginners in this fitness lark. A very big German guy takes the Boot Camp class - he does look tough although far from mean.

The Boot Camp is the closest I'll come to enrolling in a Serb military training camp.

I agree with the others marru - hugely disappointing but better not to risk injury. There will be others :)

Fedupandskint - hope you feel letter soon - same applies as above ;)

Firewalker - bootcamp? Easy  You must be one tough cookie :D

Have a good weekend everyone, I'll be getting in 2 more runs with another 12 on Sunday. Just booked my train tickets for the GNR and am weirdly excited!
  • Just a quick 5K yesterday, but I did interval training (i think that is what it's called) where you run at normal speed then sprint as hard as you can for a minute, back to normal speed and repeat. I was shattered, and sweating lots. I've never done it befrore, but it seems to do some good!

Just back from a lovely, sweet session on THE HILLET - this is a small hill near our house. Went up and down it 10 times, though, for the residents' amusement.

Guys, I have to become a lean, mean running machine. I was running with Little Boy today (since he is 91/2 he did the hillet only 6 times) and two teens started shouting at me that I should do weight lifting not running. Now, this is my national sport - apparently Bulgarian women started doing it as well. After the dismall football performance last night we Bulgarians are probably better off sticking to weights and restling. But it still hurts!

    I am a runner.

I have signed up to take part on the coastal relay and do couple of legs in South Wales. Now it seems that that weekend I am not going to be around and also due to the lack of training I seriously don't think I am up for that kind of mileage.

Is anybody able (or know someone who is) to run on Sunday morning 19 September from Laugharne to Saundersfoot or at least part of it? Please send me a pm and I will get you in contact with the stretch coordinator.

I will be doing a leg of the relay this week but that is only 4 miles so I should be able to at least hobble it.

Can't help out Marru, but it sounds like fun!

Did another 12 miles this morning. It felt easier than last week - maybe because I braved it and put my shorts on :o My legs looked like 2 raw sausages :rotfl:
Will have to slap on the fake tan for the big day - 2 weeks to the GNR :j

    Evening peeps,

just back from my long run - did 1 hour and 25 min and felt great. No silly comments but I did go down the Mersey and met mostly dogs. Also was wearing my Bristol Half Marathon top (run it for the Bristol prostitutes couple of years ago, a charity called One25).

In retrospect though I should not have had this lentil soup for lunch:rotfl:.
