    Hi bunny hunny!

Just dust down those trainers, head on out there and see how you feel - you will surprise yourself at how much you can do. Even though it is a year since you ran, you will have that muscle memory, and it won't be like starting from scratch again.

don't have any expectations, just enjoy the fact that you are out there doing something in the fresh air, giving yourself "me" time, and see how you get on. then the next time, just go a bit further.

Shall I put you down for the Edinburgh Marathon with me and P.....?

    :D

Oh, and I've wanted to ask about the Shred...Is it good? I don't really need to lose weight, but I do want to tone up. THanks.

Oh yes - it is the best :j

    Hello Everyone,

Great to hear you're all still at it and enjoying the running. I went to spin yesterday, which I have missed for the last 3 weeks as been on holiday and did the race for life. So 70 mins of spin was a bit of a killer after such a break.

Today I did 5K and did it in my fastest time yet, 29mins 11secs. I am still nervouis about a 10K but I really want to do it. I have ran 8K comfortably so I reckon I need to just pluck up the courage and go for it. I know a local 10K course, so I will, will do it!! There is also a local 5 mile race on in the next few weeks so I may do that too.

Keep up the good work everyone.

If you've done 8k, you will be able to do 10k. Just go for it. In the race it'll be even easier, all those runners around you. Good luck and tell us how it went.

And thanks Hypno - I'll have a look into buying it.

6 miles for me this morning...thought after doing 4 miles last night I might be tired but seems not. In fact I had forgotten how much I love getting up early and running..can only do this today as DD is away so thought Id make the most of it :)

Bun, get those trainers out...I suggest you do a fast walk for maybe 10 mins to warm up then run as far as you can go and then head home. Just increase your running distance but I suspect you might be suprised how far you can go

I feel like that Sal - I wish I had gone this morning but I thought I better let the muscles stretch out a bit after last nights run

I want to get to the point where I run 5/7 days.

I can run 2 days in a row then feel like my legs need a day to recover, so could do 4 runs - how do you build up to running 3 days in a row or everyday like some of you do?

When I reach 5K mark will have achieved the first goal - nearly there!

Now, take a look back over the last 7 or 8 weeks.....dig out your posts on these threads from your first few outings, and congratulate yourself big time on just how much you have improved, and how much difference a few short weeks can make :T

As for running more than 2 days in a row - my rule is that you just do what you feel. If you try something and it appears to be too much, then don't do it again for a while. If, on the other hand, you can take it in your stride and get more out of it than you anticipated, then you can do it again!

So, if you do feel the "urge" to run for a third day in a row, then do it.....if then you feel really tired on days four five and six, then don't be too quick to run three consecutive days again.

No rules - just listen to your body!
