Thank goodnes I told you that I was going for 5 miles today as almost talked myself out of it but so chuffed now that I have done it. First time on the long run I put my garmin to beep on me when my heart rate goes too high so the pace was accordingly slow. No shred for me tonight as I am pooped... One more run for tomorrow morning - aiming for 3 miles, it will be 2 if I am late from work and then weekend off.

How do you guys motivate yourselves? Am feeling knackered post work and am busy talking myself out of a run. I know writing here will help somewhat as even now I feel guilty for thinking about not goign but am considering dropping to a treadmill session and then either an indoor or outdoor run tomorrow when I wake up.

That is why I mostly run in the mornings, I get up on autopilot, get my gear on and have done the run before my brain wakes up to realise what has just happened. ;) :rotfl:

I stuck to it by setting my alarm for 5.30am, getting up at 5.45am, getting into my running gear straight away then setting off at 6am ish.

I knew if I left it until after work I would talk myself out of it so this has worked well for me for the last 5 weeks meaning it is a nice routine for me.

At the weekend I get up between 7 -7.30am and do the same or one day I went at tea time and enjoyed feeling a bit loser than first thing in the morning.

It works a treat for me, the only thing that's putting me off is when the dark nights kick in later in the year

I think going before work may be the best thing as I keep on waking ridiculously early at the moment anyway and other stuff keeps getting in the way. Once the weather gets cooler I enjoy lunchtime runs as it gets me out of the office and keeps me away from the chips!

Hello :hello: I missed this! Can I join please?!

I'm doing the GNR in Sept and a 10k trail this weekend :o
I did 6 miles on Sunday and 3 on Tuesday at 6am. Shred Tuesday evening (and tonight once kids are in bed!) and I'll do a few miles in the morning.

Hope that's enough to start my membership! :D*subscribes*

Apart from me :o Sorry Pania just had dinner so can't run now but I am going in the morning...I have to go in the morning.

Like the idea of a virtual run buddy though, don't have anyone to run with here as everyone is faster than me.
