Can I join you all? I am trying to get the nerve together to do a half marathon soon, well sometime, as I missed the entries for the great south run this year and would really like some support. I've got a 10k booked for the beginning of August and have doen next to no running in recent months and then I am toying with the New Forest Half in Sep or hanging on until Mar for the Bath Half.
Will definitely go for a run tomorrow, no chance today as I am stuck in work.

vixstar those goals sound great. where abouts is the ten k and what are you up to at the mo. we basically all just boot each other out of the door, provide moral support and its a fun place to come and chill on the sofa after a spell outside. welcome aboard. xx

I can complete a 10k in around an hour and would like to do it in less, and I managed the great south last year in around 2 hours (was enjoying the scenery and house hunting!). August's 10k is in Aylesbury and I may do one in Headington at the start of Sep. The New Forest Half is beautiful scenery but lots of hills, although they do say you have up to six hours to complete it!

Hi everyone, Can I join in? I have been running now for 4 months and can now run 4 miles and a little bit. I have done a few 5K races and now want to train for a 10K, but it feels a bit daunting and I don't really know where to start in stepping up the distances. Any advice would be gratefully received!

What is the shred DVD that I keep seeing mentioned? I have recently lost a lot of weight and as well as getting fit I want to maintain my new weight, so all help is welcome. I would also love to do a marathon, but again this scary and I don't even know how to apply/train etc.

Can I join the running club, please? I have been running for 7 years now which was a radical and dramatic transformation - from 'my favourite sport is sitting in coffee bars' to seasoned marathon runner. Have run Dublin, Loch Ness, Edinburgh and Brighton marathons. This October I am running Lausanne marathon and would lile to finish in under 4 h and 30 min (fastest time to-date 4.45). In training - and tonight had a speed session with my son who is nine and very fast over short distances.

Also would like to lose about 10 kg and doing by about 600 g a week. Finding it hard.

Firewalker You oviously like your hilly marathons, I did the loch ness 10k and drove home via the marathon routwe and it looked evil but scenic.
