I don't envy you both with the school stuff, I remember how much it used to cost for my two. It's a lot easier this year, as my son has left school and is going into 6th form, so no uniform to buy thank goodness, just a new bag, and then folders or whatever he needs for each subject, so thank goodness for that! Just hope they don't have any expensive trips planned because there's no way we can stretch to that! Great price for the hair, going ot get mine done tomorrow, can't wait!

Morning All, sounds like we are all new & improved models now with our hair cuts. You are very lucky Jackie to have daughters who can do your hair for you. My hairdresser is a friend of my daughter who has set up on her own as a mobile hairdresser and she is very good, it only cost me £35 for a cut and colour:)

Good news on your DMP payment Jackie, at least now you feel that something positive is happening:)

Well done on getting Mint to freeze interest jcorbygas:)

    Take care everyone

Can I join this thread ? I am new to a DMP, and only just spoke to CCCS yesturday, just waiting for statements to come from creditors and so I can send em to CCCS. My first payment to CCCS is 1st Oct, so you guys are a little in front of me. I too have kept the extent of my debts from my hubby, and think Ill tell him when its all up n running, then hell see that I have done something about it. I think seeing as you guys are a couple of months in front of me, youll probably be able to offer me some support through these early days.

Debt free in 3 years 8 months (hopefully)!!!!1

    Hi Pkezza and welcome

Yes the first stages are quite difficult because you dont know how your creditors are going to react all I can say it hasnt been as bad for me as I expected as few phone calls at beginning but the last few weeks have heard nothing.

It has been the best thing I have done and you are diffinetley doing the right thing, I too kept the extent of debts from my hubby and he is still not great I think it takes time for them as well.

Let me know how things are going and if I can help in any way just ask on here we aall keep each other going when we have s.....ty days

Keep in touch and good luck jackiexxx

    I will ask her ha,ha

No news from MBNA, had very similar from Santander saying that the payments are not sufficient but to keep paying - but hey ho, not letting it get to me.

My payments to CCCS are quite low at the moment but once the HP on my car finishes then I can up it by £200+ per month. The only downside to this is that my employer states that our cars should not be over 4 years old (which mine will be soon) but I'm going to cross that bridge when I come to it:)

Had a bit of a carp day with OH yesterday as he has taken to completely ignoring the phone which means that he is not picking up any business calls either but having a row seems to have worked as he has gone out now to complete a job that he has been putting off all week.

    Take care

Hiya, yes we are a bit in front of you so we will be able to warn you of the perils of this journey LOL! Seriously, we have helped each other through these inital weeks and it has been good to have someone to 'talk' to who understands exactly what you are going through, so welcome!!

We also seem to have a mutual club running as well which is the OH pain in the a$%e club which you are quite welcome to join as well:rotfl:

Morning all - yes I am lucky having 2 daughters in the hair/beauty business - I am still wondering where they get it from as I was never (or never allowed to be ) interested in making myself look good.
OH took a phone call yesterday evening and he doesnt know who he was speaking to but they said they wanted him to make payments directly to them rather than through intermediary? He could have been talking to a fee paying company or anybody so I just hope he didnt give out any of our details - this is why he doesnt get involved in finances!!

Hope you all have a good bank holiday weekend - if we can with this awful weather!

    Jackie
