Hi all, thought I would give an update as I haven't been on here for ages. I have been on my DMP since April 2010. If i'm honest things are only slightly easier. I still have problems with creditors regularly calling and sending out letters. Managing on a daily basis seems to only get harder not easier with everyday costs such as food and petrol as expensive as it is. I try and shop so I can get as much out of the food I buy as possible. Daughters nursery fees have increased and still have arguments with hubby as to what the next 5 years hold with regards to staying in rented accomodation, working hours, as he works 7 days a week at the moment, and anyway to make more money, wondering when we will ever pay off any debt. We have reduced to one car now and have bought a diesel instead of the petrol we had. Nothing we do seems to make a difference and all month I am watching the calendar waiting for my payday then his. I'm sorry this has turned into more of a moan than an update but I suppose the situation is as I expected it to be. I think I have learnt such a big lesson in that it is so easy to get into debt but very difficult to get out, even though my spending was on everyday things and consolidation, not lavish spending. We can't even get a joint bank account!
Just wondered if anyone was actually seeing a dent in their balances on a DMP, as most of mine are still charging interest and fees!0 -
Hi Lifeofthesword
Yes I totally symathise with you, I am nearly a year down the road, I dont get calls from creditors any more but have recentley started to get letters again.
Havnt seen much of a a dent either in my debts as some have still not stopped interest. Life is still tough and like you am counting the days down until payday every month, it just dosnt stretch far enough with food and petrol.
My car has just cost £700 to get through MOT bit of a shock and cant afford a new one, and of course I wouldnt be able to get finance or a loan so I had to pay it.
Hope everything goes ok with you, I think life is tough for most people at the moment at least we have admitted we had a problem, hopefully life will start getting better soon

Hi all
I really dont like the summer holidays.....its too much pressure financially....too much to buy and not enough cash to go around...oh how I miss my credit card to get me through the month!!!!!
Going away next week with kids going to be hard but need a break.....more penny pinching what joy!!!
As you can tell not feeling too good about money at moment better when kids go back to school and stop eating all the food an wanting to go out.0 -
