Voucher Cloud and Red Laser are both pretty good (and free) and Around Me is handy, also free. Sorry, my one child is actually at an age where she's having her own children so I can't help with apps for kids.
If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

SLIMMING WORLD 13/5/2012- 6lb loss total weight loss 5 stone 8lb

  • +1 for Angry Birds! Very very very addictive BUT you can just play for 30 seconds or so at a time while you're waiting for a bus or to kill some time. And they keep releasing more levels too.

I'm also liking CameraPlus which can really spruce up photos directly on your phone without uploading them to your computer first.
  • Moneydance - syncs with my desktop and lets me take my finances "on the road"
Tweetdeck - the best twitter client I've found
Alarm Clock Pro - best alarm clock app that I've found
    Camera+ - as Oscar says
Skype - make free calls with your iPhone
    Angry Birds - just because

The iPhone increased its usefulness 100 fold after the IOS4 upgrade. I still wish they'd sort out Bluetooth though.
Please note that any posts that I make on here are based on my personal opinion, experience and what I have read.

not an app but best to book mark this page if you buy music often. you can get top 40 singles for 40p each from HMV downloads. guess this would be cheaper than amazon mp3 website and itunes too http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/34603/hmv-offers-budget-download-singles

and the following for android phones ....

you can remote record (official sky app and no need for a third party app) for sky+ and sky HD+ for android phones for free http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/34559/android-gets-own-sky-app might be useful if you forgot to set up sky+ to record and realise later you will be missing a good match or program. the app is called "sky+" and written by "bskyb"

avoid 0870 charges by using the following app and automatically redirecting to local number

    app called "0870"

and also another called "say no to 08" similar to the above and you can avoid extra charges for both 0870 and 0845

both available from the android market

    iPhone

Funky gadget - www.dropbox.com - you download to your pc and your phone and it will sync your photo's amongst other things. One drawback to the iPhone is you can't easily transfer pics to your iPhone - bit of a design flaw if you ask me :) But this gadget lets you and you can then use them as wallpapers too or icons for people when they call etc. also means if you set it up to back up stuff on the iPhone you're less dependent on it should you need to change computers and *shudder* sync to a new iTunes library :)
