Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today? :A0 -
ok I am starving, this always happens. doesn't matter what I have for breakfast, i'm hungry at 12. so i could have lunch now but then i'll be hungry at 4 - so I have no idea what to do or eat!!
I have done that often, eat early to starve off hunger, pay later, I used to have a plate of salad with cucumber slices or toms, a boiled egg is filling and low in cals etc, I used to salt the cucumber slices to add a bit of tang to them and eat that, nuts are supposed to be a very good hunger surpressent but high in cals etc so I have them rarely, I eat between meals if need be a sugar free jelly with a bit of fruit or fromage frais on top, breakfast for fillingness if there is such a word is always porridge when I know I am going to be hungry:D
Going to bed early is always another one:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Fabulous news Victory: so glad for him and all the family.
And lovely to hear too how he has spent his !!!!!!!" money on decent clothes etc.
A good day for the V family:j
By the way - sympathies for you re DS2 and sary's re food etc. Very tough one.
Fellpony -thinking of you.
If you want a good eating plan I can only recommend SW: eat plenty and still lose weight (if you following it to the letter)I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
I have been watching youngest a lot recently and he is def a boredom eater, bad habit to get into, he has few friends around here, at school he is popular and sociable and friendly but they live too far away after school to get involved with, he goes to cubs once a week but really is more of home child due to distance and so eats, lots and often, we went shopping today and he asked for sweets and I said no, why he said because you cannot keep eating bad things for you, you have to eat more healthily, he shrugged and did not ask again.
He needs more outdoor exercise, more local things to do, friends to be with, run around more, be more physically active and he will be fine, he needs motivation, he has slumped himself to the sofa through knowing his friends are a drive away, he seems to have accepted his lot and turned to food, that stops now, he gets 3 meals a day and snacks in between have to be a muller light yog, fruit etc.
I caught him spooning sugar into his mouth from the sugar pot in the kitchen:eek:0 -
The other day when we were out shopping, in the store trying on clothes the youngest came out and told me the trousers do not fit, a complete stranger lady in her mid 60's started talking to me about weight, how she thought it was great I was worried about it now, to keep an eye on him, to do all that I could to make sure he has a happy slimmer life because her one big regret was her daughter now in her 30's was obese, very, very large, very rounded she said, struggles to breathe, move about, she said her one big regret was not nipping it in the bud when she was in her teens as she was bigger than all the other girls at school but she said she blamed herself because she 'fed her to please her' gave in, thought she was loving her, not really thinking she was doing more harm than good.
The lady said food should never be seen as a sign of love, it can ruin a person and their quality of life, now she says her daughter feeds herself mountains daily and now it is too late for the mother to do anything about it, the mother herself was slender, very smartly dressed and very vocal about controlling it now.
I could swallow myself up with looking at my son and let the feelings of guilt overwhelm me but what is the point to that? My son is very sweet toothed, gluttoness, grabby when food is put on the table, over piles his plate, always asks for more, boredom eats.I never made him like that but did not make an issue of it sooner.
No more sweets only on saturdays when he gets pocket money and nothing in the house, even harsher than before!
He needs more stimulation and he has growing to do yet so there is time on our side.0 -
Victory - no more sweets, only on Saturdays. Reminds me of myself as a child. Sweets were rationed, 4 ounces a week and at one stage this was reduced to 3 ounces. The modern child would gobble this amount and never notice it. In addition, we walked to the little sweet-shop in the next village to get the sweet ration.
Spooning sugar from the sugar-bowl in the kitchen. Again that made me smile. If we ever have anyone here doing work of one kind or other, we give them tea, but no sugar - we don't keep any sugar in the house! If they want it sweet then they have to have it with Splenda or the like.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

I have a very analytical mind, some might say I over do it, trying to work things out to an inch of their lives:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: so I have done that with my son and his weight and I have reached the conclusion I could !!!!! foot around him, telling him it is all fine and to make out it is not happening but I read a very interesting article in the daily mail about the subject of should you tell your child he is fat?
The answer is yes you should, I can't remember the exact wording to the article but the bottom line is yes you should, no modilicodling (sp) as that is what got the child into being larger than needed and no more feeding the child through false love as the stranger said, food can and is a killer, it brings with it many illnesses, restrictions and causes psychological problems, costing the tax payer in the future lots of money.
I wish I had kept the article as it explains it far better than i am doing, it was a few weeks ago I read in Spain, made my OH read it also as he seems to think we should go slowly and I feel we should be open and nip it in the bud now, not when as the stranger says when it is too late.0 -
Well thats my final OU assignment in just the two exam pieces to go. Really struggled with this one but am pleased with the final piece. Definitely haven't put enough time or effort into this course, am doing English next and hoping that will kick start aproper study habit.
And I'm regretting my quorn frankfurters for lunch, on plan but didn't taste great. I know tonight's dinner will be nice though. Right off to write letters and work through my craft drawer.0
