I havent been able to weigh in this week - but i know that it will be a gain due to a number of factors including being on steroids (have really swollen up from them) not able to excercise or even mbilise much as i am getting really short of breath and wheezy, cant get out to the shops to pretty much living out of the freezer at the moment, my sick certificate runs out on friday so i will probably have to go back to the docs on friday and see what they say, not sleeping very much as it is taking a long time to get to sleep as i have breathing issues when lying down and i cant sleep sitting up!! Am really getting fed up of feeling ill now - i do not make a good patient!!

More big hugs your way bex.

I'm feeling much better today. So I'm not gonna over do it like I have done when I've been feeling better. First time I felt better I cut the grass, gave me a reason to get some exercise. Ended up sleeping the rest of the day. Next day I felt better, I had a clear out of kitchen and livingroom, with some general cleaning. Slept all night, took the little one to school, came back and slept from 9.30 -3pm. Still slept all night.

So the plans for today are a quick run into town to stock up the fruit bowl. Then be as lazy as possible for the rest of the day.

Guess I'm really lucky that I am able to sleep through illness as much as possible. Would hate to be in Bex's situation where u don't sleep much.

The good thing about sleeping too much is, you don't eat as much, but then again, you're not moving to get the exercise that's needed. Pretty sure my weight loss has slowed down again due to not working. But hey ho, pretty sure i'll be active again by next week. Antibiotics finish on friday so should be up and raring to go for weekend

ok guys i think i've actually reached a plateau, is this just a figment of my imagination or has anyone else experienced it?

Ive not lost any weight really for about a month and its really knocking my motivation. My body does seem to be demanding more food in that im hungry more, and i have had the odd chocolate bar, but ive been calorie counting and have therefore been able to accommodate it.

I know i'm still overweight and have weight to lose, if anyone can offer any similar experiences or advice it would be much appreciated.

i stopped loosing weight when i was not eating enough, i had a deficit of 20k in a week a lost nothing, upped it by 500 cals a day and started loosing again

the body seams to get accustomed to regular eating patterns and food intakes, i try to mess it about with having lower and higher cal days and by changing the amount in each meal and sometimes the time i eat

yes shell, totally agree with what eric said. Have a friend who's only cheated 3 times in a year on SW. The 3 times that she has cheated, she's had great losses the following week. So sometimes mixing it up can make your body react a bit better.

I cheat too much for that to have any effect on me :rotfl:

    thanks guys, thats really helpful.

i set myself a target of 1500 calories a day, but ive been averaging 1200, on a bad day i'll have 1500 to be honest.

its just getting me down as it really doesn't help the motivation, but thanks! i might try and mix it up a bit more, maybe my body thinks im starving it, but ive lost 14lbs already so i don't understand why its suddenly stopped now.

my new aim, was to lose another stone and gave myself three months to do it, time seems to be ticking away and no loss :(

Shell, i also agree with eric and mazza. So long as you dont start eating stupidly, maybe taking a few days off from your diet would pay dividends in the longer term?
I don't know anything about your age or how active you are etc so is 1200-1500 calories per day sensible for you do you think - or have you pushed it right to the very bottom of the recommended limits?

Bex - hope you're feeling better soon :-)

so Mazza what you need is a sort of cross between sleeping and step aerobics? Hold on, i think ive got just the thing...

Jay, i hope you managed to have a good day today with your new start. The first one is always pretty tough but you have to remind your body who is boss!

I'm pleased to say that only a few weeks into the diet/exercise plan and already I'm feeling and seeing a difference :-) Last time i had my blood pressure taken it was too high, this morning at the docs, they took it again and it was back to normal, also my trackies keep needing to be hoiked up - (and they were a tight fit back in June) but by far the best difference so far is that I can walk 5 miles non stop whereas not long ago I could barely do 300 yards without having to sit for a spell to relieve some terrible back ache. There's a very very long way to go but touch wood, even the food control has been going quite well so far, I think planning every single thing in advance is really working this time.

Home now, went to work yesterday , boss refusing to let me know how or if I passed my modules until saturday, every time I went to speak to him, he said 'you must not bother me, I will talk to you on saturday' what a twonk, no change there then.

We must go out and get food, we have none in the house and they will all be lean low stuff especially more so now for the little one, he has to be ableto go back to school at least a tadge leaner than he is now otherwise the kids at school are going to destroy him.

    Speak soon:D

Well done puddings - glad you are seeing results already. a great incentive to keep going :)

Victory, welcome back. Bet the weather here is a big disappointment after sunny spain!

thanks for the chart fred - can't belive i have 5.5 to lose for the august challenge still! hope I can lose a few lb in the next week but i doubt i'll meet the target. never mind, next time!

I'm feeling a bit ill today - sniffing and sneezing. think it's a combination of bad food, lack of sleep and lack of exercise. Tried to do some exercise in my living room yesterday and hurt my knee! :( going to do some gentle push ups/sit ups today just to kick start my body. would love to try going for a run but the unseasonal august rain is not helping!

Having a bit of a 'detox' today (dont worry eric nothing crazy!) I just mean I am going to eat a lot of fruit and drink a lot of hot water with lemon to help me beat this cold. Dont wanna be ill this weekend as we have a family do.

    happy friday everyone!

Puddings that's great, especially about the walking! :T

Shell1000 one thing that helps me when I'm on the dreaded 'plateau' is removing any time-deadlines for weight loss, to give myself chance to experiment with different approaches etc.

Welcome back Victory, hope you had a lovely time :D.

This is my first morning back from hols and I've amazingly weighed in at less than before I went away! Sadly it's still a gain on last month because I put on weight the week before I left :p. I'm still taking that as a big positive though, because it's the first time I have ever lost weight on holiday - I usually gain around 1 kg per week that I'm away so that would normally have been a 3 kg gain.

This is coming up to the time of year (Sept-Dec) when I usually see the best results, so fingers crossed! I would like to lose between 2-4 kg. Here goes...
