Hezzawithkids wrote: »Welcome to a new week everyone!!
I nearly made a serious mistake this morning when contemplating what to have for brekkie. The canteen here at the office has a variety of cereals on display and I was going to have Special K for a change from my usual porridge or bacon & poached egg; paused to look it up online and Special K is totally synful on EE - like minimum 4.5 syns, even the "less than 2% fat" variety is 5 syns :eek::eek::eek:. There must be so much processed rubbish in it. Went for plain old muesli with skimmed milk in the end (which I've never had before, usually have it as a topping for yoghurt) and with a sliced banana on top it was delish!
Just goes to show how we are conned by the diet industry. Has anyone ever tried their drop-a-jeans-size-2-week challenge? Years ago I started on it but got completely bored within a week and gave it up!
I completely agree with the diet industry con.
special K is so packed with artificial nonsense and sugars (and still manages to taste like cardboard) but they encourage you to have it for 2 meals a day as a healthy way to lose weight - you could have a kitkat for 2 meals a day for the same cals and still lose weight!
Same for Go Ahead - I always had their bars since they're low fat (and not even very nice) but they are really synful on SW too - shows they are packed with hidden nasties.Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

hezza special K is packed with sugars, as a diabetic never touch them or the so called health bars full of nuts and...sugars:eek: there is so much sugar and a whole heap of unnecessary rubbish in all these marketing ploys to get you to eat healthy but you are not actually doing that, should be much more monitored:D0

hello peeps. Thanks for new thread Fred:D
Re 5lb challenge - looking at the chart from when i had a coupla long stints doing it, the 5lb challenge hasn't disappeared from the chart;that is what the 'lost this month' column is for, it's just we all stopped talking about it and gradually newbies who have joined us wouldn't hve been aware of it specifically.
And that is why we start a new chart every month, becasue it is the start of a new 5lb challenge.
Fred , when I did the chart when someone reached 5lb+ in the month I would highlight that in the chart row with a colour and writeen acknowledgement beneath. Obviously do it any way you fancy that feels right for now.
Anyway - great stuff to revive it and it sound just what some folks here could do with right now:T.
Sary - sorry your son is putting you through this again, although at least he told you where he was going and he has finished hs GCSE's. I still apprecate it is gut wrenching though:(. I hope he chooses to come back soon.
Good to hear you doing so much better off the beta blockers Eric:T
I'm a bit up and down at the mo. The NHS system has taken it's time to get my new medication to me so I am still on the ones that seem increasingly to not be doing me any good and I keep feeling quite poorly and not up to much. I should change over by the end of this week. And then the new adventure starts...
Once off these I am hoping to lose a bit more weight as these current ones increase my appetite so much.
Off to do a big @sd@ shop soon, groan. Defrosted both freezers yesterday in preparation.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Bb~As always I am soooo full of admiration of how you cope with lifes ups & downs.

hezza you will be pleased to know that for the last 2 hours I have been pounding the keyboard to write a letter to head office, if it comes to that, I feel that the reality of it is slowly sinking in and I am soon to loose my job whether I choose or not, I hope I choose to leave before I get pushed but so far the letter is all hikkidly pickedly but I have had enough for now and will resume another day:D
I am trying to put all the facts and figures into it rather than she said this and he said that and I am a bullied person etc so it will take some work as yet:D0 -
